Jeb Bush has been widely regarded as a challenger to Barack Obama in 2012 who was most likely to succeed. However, Politico is reporting that he announced today that he is not running for president. If true, this is a blow to the GOPs hope to take over the White House in 2012.
What made (or makes) Bush such an ideal candidate is his ability to attract independent voters when matched against Obama. Many of the other candidates who are thought to be in the top tier of contenders are able to attract much of the base, but have trouble attracting the all-important independent vote. Sarah Palin is beloved by social conservatives and neo-conservatives; Mitt Romney will attract much of the entrepreneurial wing; Ron Paul is adored by the libertarians. Im guessing that, with Jeb out, these are the early front-runners.

Good. Time to put the "USA political dynasties" Bushs, Kennedys, Clintons, etc... to rest for good.

Given the GWB legacy, the poison spread over it by the dems and the MSM, and the inability of the rinos to combat same...the younger Mr. Bush has made the correct decision.

Oh Gee Wiz, and I was so looking forward to Jeb forming the “Compassionate Tea Party.”
Jeb, your brother did enough damage to the GOP, and the conservative movement. Thanks for doing the right thing and NOT running!

Exactly! He keeps such a low profile, I forgot about him. Doesn't seem like what is happening to our country bothers him too much.

I got my laugh for today!

The Bush’s are honorable people, and the certainly didn’t embarrass the USA like Obama is doing - but they are also the definition of a political family, going along to get along. I doubt they are even conservatives.

Jeb Bush has been widely regarded as a challenger to Barack Obama in 2012 who was most likely to succeed. And who the hell decided this piece of nonsense?

Naw, we could do a lot worse and probably will. Give us enough ammo, rope, or booze and we do ourselves in pretty regularly.
