What a despicable thing to say! Many soldiers, sailors, etc. signed up out of sincere patriotism after 9-11, my daughters included. To be slimed by someone like you making such a callous remark is just beyond the pale. My daughters serve their country, not a politician. They go where they are told; they do what they are told. They are not “invaders”. To suggest that our military members who are murdered and mutilated by these savages is somehow deserved is just a horrendous attitude. Well, I can only hope that I will be in the eighth grade - again. Just so you will know, I have no animus towards the military. I come from a long line of veterans of which several have paid the ultimate. I am a Viet vet and have seen the elephant myself. Just don't get too sanctimonious, bravery and stupidity are two different things. I have personally experienced brave young men do dumb, dumb, things for which they paid the price. Chuck Yeager had a saying that he frequently quoted “there are old pilots and bold pilots but there are no old bold pilots”. Peace....
Finally, we can begin talking like civilized people and stop hurling insults at one another. I also come from a long line of veterans and I have also seen many of my fellow brothers and sisters in arms do super dumb things. My whole point is that we don't cast aspersions on their character when they paythat ultimate price in service to their country, especially when neither of us knows the circumstances of their death.
People are people. Some are rocket scientists, others aren't and we both ran into all kinds when we were in the military.
