I’m all for state secession. This is what the Founding Fathers intended. Sadly all secessionist dreams were lost after Lincoln. By the looks of it the only solution to preserve its sovereignty would be for Arizona to secede. A secessionist movement is already active in New Hampshire.

So who is Arizona going to trade with? They would be completely surrounded and Obama would probably allow the Mexican military and other scumbags have their way with Arizona.

I think simple defiance would be more effective. This would leave the next move up to the feds, who would find themselves mobilizing to arrest and prosecute state officials for illegally enforcing federal law. Anyway you look at it, this thing is going to build.

Lately, I've been hearing in the media the Leftist siren call for direct elections, ie. democracy instead of a republic. The call is to get rid of the Electoral College. One campaign meme is to put fear into the people that some republican candidates oppose the "direct election of senators," playing on the public's ignorance of history that senators were not always elected directly.

I have been saying for a year, that I think Obama will try to extend his Presidency indefinitely by a Chavez/Zelaya-style "popular vote", 22nd Amendment be damned. We know the game plan:"Let the PEOPLE decide!" "Democracy for ALL!" "Let's make HISTORY!"

If the Progressives succeed in overriding the 22nd, and implement illegal amnesty, then secession SHOULD happen, because the Republic is over.

And just because it failed in the past doesn't mean it will in the future. Otherwise we'd still be under the Roman or British Empire.

It is laughably false that the founders EVER intended secession. In fact, the greatest of the Founders: Washington, Hamilton, Marshall, Madison all believed secession to be impossible under the Constitution.

Not even Jefferson believed it a good idea though his idiotic interpretations of the Constitution led to the RAT Rebellion of 1861.

One could amend the constitution and allow withdrawal but that would be the only way to do it legally.
