End this war NOW. This war is hopeless and lost. GWB should have dropped some megatons on this pathetic existence of a country when he had the political clout following 9/11.
Indeed she is. "The religion of peace" can only cut so deep.
What savage barbarians do with their women is their business, not ours.
Spoken like a true (selfish) libertarian. Thanks for taking time away from your dope-smoking to make this (asinine) post.
Sadly, the link doesn’t connect to an Oriana essay
OK, I'm not a libertarian and I don't smoke anything.
But, that aside, let's hear your framework for a world in which the nature of the marital relation in the Hindu Kush is under the supervision and control of the United States of America (a land, by the way, where the marital relation is not in such great shape).
Do you think every village in Afghanistan should have an American governor? Do you think that governor should have armed forces to enforce his will?
My congressthing actually WENT to Afghanistan last summer to instruct them in proper relations between the sexes. So, I suppose you are not alone in your beliefs.
But, how a government of limited powers can marshal an Army of sufficient size to conquer the planet and then to forcibly alter the most fundamental aspects of the private lives of EVERY SINGLE HUMAN BEING ON EARTH is, to me, a bit of a problem.
But, you're the guy who finds my post asinine, so, let's hear your ideas about how to reorganize the private lives of Pashtuns.
The Church should be sending missionaries these countries to civilize them. Instead, it is doing other things.
Note the tagline ...
Missionaries are already there.
The atheists are running scared.

After seeing the movie "The Hurt Locker", I said outloud: "We will never be able to westernize the Middle East (the years it would take to teach them about abortion on demand and gay pride parades).
Puns aside, there is a difference between "westernize" and "civilize". While it's obvious we can't do the first, the latter is possible (let's start with the "extermination" of one helluvalot of guys that cut noses off of innocent women).
With comments like you made in your intial post, I think a good dose of Sunday School classes is in order for you Jim.
Every church in the country should be sending them out.
Anyways, point taken, and I am glad they are there.
Isn't this what we are celebrating?
WHERE, oh WHERE are the FEMINISTS?
Hitlery, WHERE are YOU?
Co comment, Hitlery?
Oh, I forgot. Chelsea just got married and you blew through MILLIONS of dollars. You're too busy spending money that was sill gained. BTW Hitlery, did you EVER return ALL you stole from the WH or PAY BACK your Presidential run DEBT? Oh, I'm so silly. Only the LITTLE PEOPLE need to do that. Why it's part of your job to SPEND THE MONEY of others, not be responsible.
