The yacht vs. the pickup truck

DEMOCRAT JOHN Kerry sets sail in a $7 million yacht built in New Zealan d. Republican Scott Brown hits the campaign trail in a GMC pickup truck with 200,000 miles on it.

From Newport, R.I., — where Kerry’s “Isabel’’ was berthed before heading to Nantucket — to Rhinebeck, N.Y. — where Chelsea Clinton will marry in a mansion modeled after Versailles — today’s Democrats are looking more like Louis XVI than Tip O’Neill.

And both sell us down the river into tax and inflation slavery. Brown is a fraud.

Brown is distinctly better than the alternative and a big improvement over Ted Kennedy.

millionaire Sarah Palin

When did Sarah become a millionaire? I wouldn't be surprised if she is one now via her book and speaking fees but to imply she somehow doesn't have middle class roots and her middle class outlook is an act is pretty dishonest.

Hey, give Scott a chance . He’s only been in Wash. a few months.
Before long he’ll be jet setting with the rest of them .

give him time. He looks like a Specter in the making, though maybe a little ahead of schedule.

While Republicans drape themselves in middle class values, they are sticking it to the middle class. It’s all in the effort to deny Obama and the Democrats any positive political message.

Last week, Senate Republicans rejected a bill to aid small business with expanded loan programs and tax breaks. Before that, Republicans tried to block extension of employment benefits and financial regulatory reforms, which finally passed with minimal help from the GOP.

Well, I pretty much stopped reading about there.

The operative term the liberal MSM would be using if we were talking about pubbies here ... decadent. Their outrage would be off the Richter scale ... guaranteed.

One day at a time. Brown now is better than Kennedy was before or Coatley (or whatever her name was) would have been. He can be a place holder until we get rid of Reid or some of the other libs. No victory, or loss is forever.

Brown is currying favor with the MA Dem establishment he will have to deal with after he loses the election. He’s an opportunist who used the Tea Party to advance himself personally and knows the odds of winning in Kennedy’s district another time are slim to none unless he either goes major RINO or the Dems manage to throw another Coakley at him.

I’m not holding my breath that Brown will ever be a conservative... But I agree with the earlier post that he’s much better than Kennedy.

A conservative WILL NOT WIN in Massachusetts. It won’t happen. So here are Scott Brown’s options....vote and act like a conservative and lose to a Democrat in two years, or vote and act like a moderate, and maybe (just maybe) win in two years.

So the question is, would you rather have a guy you votes your way 50% of the time in two years, or a guy who votes your way none of the time?

Spector began as a Democrat and switched to Republican and back again, remaining a committed opportunist the entire time. Brown has always been a Republican, even though the Massachusetts Senate is 4 to 1 Democrat. If he were an opportunist, he’d be a Democrat.

Brown always came across to me (during his appearances on the Howie Carr show) as a real dim bulb.

But once he was elected I got a real sinking feeling when I heard him describe his interactions with Dingy Harry and John Effin’ Kerry as “gracious.” If he said it once, he said it 50 times.

When White House press monkey Robert Gibbs wanted to insult Rush Limbaugh, he brilliantly said, “I bet Rush doesn’t drive an F-150.” Nobody thought to ask Gibbs what he drives.

Subject: Go time

Dear ,

I know you get more requests for donations than you can give to. I really do. In these times, especially, I feel bad for asking.

But I also know how much you care about the fights we’re fighting - and I know you want to make sure it makes a difference when you chip in to help in the fights that really matter.

Folks, it’s go-time — we have just 93 days until the election, and 15 hours to meet the DSCC’s end-of-month deadline.

Click here to give $5 or more to the DSCC. We have fewer than 100 days to fight a revved up right-wing resurgence, and every dollar will make a difference!

Long before I was our party’s nominee for president, I chaired the DSCC - so as someone who has been through the political firefights of a lifetime, and from my gut, here’s why I implore you to act now: This week, national Republicans reserved $2.7 million in airtime for attack ads against my friends Barbara Boxer, Patty Murray and Russ Feingold, not just top targets in their plan to retake the majority, but Democrats I love and who I know are the heart and soul of our caucus.

Bottom-line: Democrats are fighting in twice as many states as in most election years. That’s twice the phone calls to make, twice the attack ads to counter, and twice the voters to mobilize.

The DSCC is watching every race every day, and every dollar goes where it will pack the biggest punch. Your gift might mean the difference between winning in November or losing seats to the party that on the one hand calls the unemployed lazy and on the other seeks to give huge tax breaks to the biggest corporations.

Click here to give $5 or more to the DSCC. We have fewer than 100 days to fight a Republican resurgence, and every dollar will make a difference!

I know many of you are tired. You’re frustrated. You want more and better change. Know what? I don’t blame you. Believe me, so do I. But we’re not going to get the change we want and America needs - we’re not going to get anything except more of the Bush policies - if we cede even an inch to these extreme ideologues who have taken over the Republican Party. Republicans have proven whom they’re fighting for, and I don’t think I need to tell you: It’s not you. Whether it’s health care reform, Wall Street oversight or campaign finance, they have chosen their team. They’re on the side of the big corporations and the status quo, not the American people.

We can’t let them get away with it. Your donation now to the DSCC helps them drive home the message that Republicans stand with Wall Street, not Main Street. Help me help Democrats fight back. Even as little as $5 from each of our grassroots supporters will make a huge difference. The end-of-month deadline is only 15 hours away.

Click here to give $5 or more to the DSCC. We have fewer than 100 days to fight a Republican resurgence, and every dollar will make a difference!

Only 93 days and 15 hours until our deadline. It’s time for all dedicated Democrats to fight back.

Sincerely,

Sen. John Kerry

Bad, but not so bad he won't ask. And now that he had to pay the #437k in yacht taxes, after trying to get around the tax he helped impose on his constituents, he needs those $5 clicks more than ever.
