ATLANTA — The University of Georgia won a national title this year — top party school.

The Princeton Review announced Monday that Georgia is the No. 1 party school on its now infamous annual ranking. The school of about 30,000 students has been on the list 10 times since the ranking was created in 1992, but this is the first time the university has taken the top spot.

For the campus — surrounded by nearly 100 bars in tiny downtown Athens — parties are just part of life from August to May each year. Many students gear up for the weekend on Thursdays and sometimes don't rest until Monday morning.

Well I guess that’s one way they cope after their annual butt-whipping courtesy of the Gators.

“The University of Georgia takes student alcohol education programs very seriously and will continue to do so,” Jackson said.”

And that program must work too, because they’re number 1.

Whatever happened to the days when "party" meant dressing for the evening, meeting people, enjoying conversation in a quiet environment with subdued music in the background, and leaving at a decent hour of 11 or 12?

Now, it's getting smashed, screaming, hooking up, puking, and waking up somewhere with "someone."

Joe's Parkway (Bozeman, MT) sells more kegs of beer per visitor than any other small grocery store in America.

Go Joe! (Actually Joe passed away a few years ago, his daughter and her husband now run it.

Cold beer!

They’ve got nothing on the Sorority sisters at Miami University in Oxford,Ohio. So far this year 3 have been suspended.

Some of the ladies stunts would’ve shocked Belushi. Here’s one example:

Sorority at Miami University of Ohio accused of drunken debauchery at Underground Railroad museum-

That was fun when I was 18 (40 years ago), but seemed pretty stupid before I hit 19. Some people are just slow learners.

I guess we have to buy the list to see this year’s rankings. My alma mater (UCSB) made the top 10 last year and is regularly in the top 3 in the Playboy survey. Nothing to brag about now, but it sure made it a great place to go to school.....and a hard place to graduate from.
