WASHINGTON (AP) - California Democrat Maxine Waters faces a House trial this fall on three charges of ethical wrongdoing, setting the stage for a second election-season public airing of ethics problems for a longtime Democratic lawmaker. The charges focus on whether Waters broke the rules in requesting federal help for a bank where her husband owned stock and had served on the board of directors. She denied the charges Monday.
Persons familiar with the case said Waters is accused of violating:
_A rule that House members may not exert improper influence that results in a personal benefit.

This was much worse that what Waters is accused of.
If that one were enforced there wouldn't be a Congressman left.
_The government employees' ethics code, which prohibits granting or accepting special favors, for the employee or family members, that could be viewed as influencing official actions.
_A rule that members' conduct must reflect creditably on the House.
I honestly believe that you could charge 500 of the 535 in Congress with any or all of these charges. If they really think they should live up to these standards, then our government truly is corrupt - AND BOTH THEY AND WE KNOW IT.

I smell an Obama rat. I think we will have bogus trials to show “whitey” that Obama can be tough on crooked blacks.
The implication will be Obama, Holder, the Wookie and the Admin do not hate “whitey” or “cracker babies.”
Unless Watters and Rangel charged in federal court for their criminal actions I expect they will get a slap on the wrist and continue as if nothing happened.
How about adding these additional charges against Waters:
1. being a communist
2. being a nasty old bitch (it runs in Calif. politics)
3. wearing a bad wig
4. being “still stuck on stupid”
5. hating America - her promotion of the nutcase idea that the CIA started the crack-cocaine epidemic in LA (long story: started with communist sympathizers related to the Christic Institute and a reporter named Webb who created a conspiracy out of isolated incidents and unsubstantiated claims - lots of unavailabe witnesses)
6. being a psychopath
7. claiming to be a human being

I still think this witch should be nailed to the wall for threatening to nationalize the Oil companies a few years back (5/22/2008). You don’t threaten to steal a publicly traded company if the executives don’t give the right promises.

Those rules are more complicated than they appear. "improper influence" is when you use your power to get a branch of government to give a bank TARP money when the bank doesn't qualify for the TARP program- which is what Waters did.
On top of that- one has to prove, with evidence, that a member has broken one of these rules. I can't begin to tell you how hard it is to put together a solid complaint with real evidence against a member of congress.
And after a thorough complaint is put in you have to hope the ethics committee will actually investigate it instead of burying it.
So in the end, after jumping through all the hoops, very few members of congress can be charged with breaking any of the rules Waters is being charged with breaking.
Waters and the CBC think this is about race. No! This is about powerful elected officials that will never be voted out of office because their districts are rigged. And when they don't fear losing their jobs at the ballot box they become corrupt. Look at every single elected official that has faced ethical problems: they all have guaranteed seats and will never lose at the ballot box.

These rules are broken every day more often than not by all there I suppose. The question is....how did she get cought? Who really wants her gone within her own party? Or did two progressive radical democrats just get cought red handed? Even if so why was it not covered up by the dems? WHAT am I missing?

Then the commies will stage a white racist attack on a black person or persons. The useful idiots will then storm out of the ghettos and attack white businesses and neighborhoods. Then Onada will declare a national emergency and cancel this coming November’s elections.
