McConnell: GOP Must Force Obama Back to Center

WASHINGTON – Republicans are positioned to score solid victories in November's congressional elections which would force President Barack Obama more to the political center, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said on Monday.

"If the election were today, we'd have a good day," McConnell told Reuters in an interview, saying Republicans were enjoying a reversal in fortunes after in the 2006 and 2008 elections when they were on the defensive and lost ground.

"We're on offense," he said.

Critics say Republicans have done little but oppose Obama on healthcare, finance, global warming and other issues. But the party expects to propose its own program in late September, as campaigns heat up for the November 2 elections, McConnell said.

He said voters could expect less spending and government intervention and a renewed push to finish free trade deals with Colombia, South Korea and Panama.

He is a Marxist revolutionary, he is not going to move to the center. The Republican “Old Guard” doesn’t get it.

Force him to the center so that he can win reelection by positioning himself as a check on Republican rule? Great strategy.

They like to cite downturns in support for Presidents Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan in their first terms as evidence that Obama could still gain re-election.

They still don’t understand.

I almost feel sorry for the old Mitch...he has not a clue who his enemy is, or of the war that is coming.

If I were him I would retire...better not to be in DC when/if Americans decide they want their earnings back.

The full interview is devastating.

Too bad Fox News ignored Dr Drew in 2008 when he contacted them.
We now know the full details of Barry’s Occidental years.

He was an avowed and committed Marxist.

He looked forward to the revolution when the Marxists would overthrow our government.

His love for Marxism was unusually strong .

He was in passionate agreement with the most radical Marxist Leninist professors.

Of course he knows what Obama is. He is pitching to Independents and Democrats alarmed by Obama’s radicalism. He’s telling them the GOP is centrist and they voted for a marxist.Making the election about Obama being way, way out of the mainstream is exactly what should be done.

The headline is misleading. McConnell said nothing about “back” to the center. That sick communist scumbag Ubama has never in his life been anywhere near the center, so the phrase “back to the center” is meaningless on the face of it. And McConnell never used that phrase. Shame on NewsMax.

If that’s what he’s doing, he shouldn’t be so cryptic about it. There are many who won’t “get” it by his being so vague.

GOP primaries are almost finished. It is normal about this time to start trying to draw from the other party and independents. They’re not going to run to the party of DeMint, Bachmann and Ryan. It’s Mitch’s job to soften it up and tell Democrats and Indies the GOP is centrist and safe. Look at Obama. The crazies nominated him but he ran as a uniter and a centrist. Like it or not, this works.
