VP Bite Me Gets Thrown Under the Bus
August 3, 2010
RUSH: Now, not only is it the Congressional Black Caucus that's being thrown overboard, so is Vice President Bite Me. Joe Biden is now under the gun. Yesterday in a White House press briefing Robert Gibbs threw him under the bus. Former Virginia governor Doug Wilder threw him under the bus. We'll tell you what Wilder said here in just a second. There's a report out there that John McCain and Tom Coburn did itemizing all of the wasteful Porkulus projects out there. "The Civitas Institute poured through the federal website charged with tracking stimulus spending, and created the following list -- The 10 Worst Federal Stimulus Projects in North Carolina. 1. Study of monkeys using cocaine: $71,623 ... 2. North Carolina Dance Theatre: $50,000 ... 3. Reducing hot flashes through yoga: $147,694 4. Collecting, researching and reporting on the stimulus act: $115,000; $150,000; $227,940 Total: $492,940." (laughing)
They paid $492,000 to collect, research, and report on the Porkulus bill. "5. Create interactive dance performance technology: $762,372." This is all in North Carolina alone. "6. American Dance Festival, Inc.: $50,000. 7. Construction of a new Town Hall in Bladenboro: $200,000; $100,000. Total: $300,000. 8. North Carolina Folk Life Institute: $25,000." Anyway, these are the things that they found, and remember Biden was put in charge of making sure this didn't happen. Remember, Obama said, "Nobody messes with [Bite Me]." Well, he said, "Nobody messes with Joe." So yesterday at the White House press briefing Suzanne Malveaux (who Snerdley once had a crush on), CNN infobabe, says, "The McCain-Coburn report that cites economic stimulus money says it had been mismanaged or wasted. They cite 97 projects out of 70,000, this good news, bad news, some acknowledgement that some of those projects might not be well-managed?"
GIBBS: Every day the vice president, the vice president's staff, uh, worked diligently to ensure, uh, that projects that receive funding abide by certain standards. Uhh, all of that is on the Internet. Uh, a level of transparency, uh, not seen in government programs -- particularly those, uh, of the magnitude of this -- and I would suggest that, uh, John McCain and his chief economic advisor during that campaign, I think the debate's probably better with -- between the two of them.
RUSH: Okay, so all these excesses are cited, and basically Gibbs says, "Well, the vice president's in charge of this -- and it's plain as day, plain and simple. We're as transparent as hell." Now, L. Douglas Wilder wrote a whole piece on Politico. Here's his main beef. He wants Bite Me out; he wants Hillary on the ticket 2012. "I will refrain from running through the list of Biden gaffes. Not because I dismiss them, but because late-night comedians have made them legendary. I realize many say that he brings some more humanity to this administration. But there are too many YouTube moments. Even recently, he has continued to undermine what little confidence the public may have had in him.
"During Biden's June trip to Florida, for example, the presumptive Democratic gubernatorial nominee Alex Sink, was so upset that she told POLITICO the whole trip was a 'screw-up' and she was 'embarrassed' by his speech. The Democratic Party is trying to elect this woman governor of a swing state -- one Obama will need in 2012 -- during the middle of the oil spill crisis in the Gulf. No vice president should leave such ignominy in his wake. A few weeks later, Biden comes south and says at a fundraiser, '[T]he heavy lifting is over,' and now the campaigning can begin. Really? Has the crude oil off the Gulf Coast disappeared?
"Is the unemployment rate back to its mid-1990s lows? Is the deficit magically under control? Are the presidents approval ratings in the mid-60s? Do large majorities of Americans believe we are on the right track? I dont think so. But none of that seems to matter to Biden. People around this country are hurting, and Biden has told them Democrats in Congress and the White House have done all they can or will for them." So here's Douglas Wilder wanting Biden off the ticket and Hillary on. Obama's getting rid of blacks who supported Hillary (the Congressional Black Caucus), and Gibbs throws Biden overboard yesterday. You figure it out.
RUSH: Since we're talking about Vice President Bite Me, let me remind you of something. Vice President Bite Me was just ordered recently to pay $220,000 to the Treasury because his presidential campaign failed to report almost $4 million in payments and $1 million in debts. Now, that's corruption. Now, Bite Me said, "Well, I forgot about this. It's sloppy bookkeeping" and got away with it. However, he's white, and he got away with it on the Democrat side. Charlie Rangel? Maxine Waters? They're not white. They're not getting away with it. He was just ordered to pay back 220 grand. He failed to report almost $4 million in payments and a million dollars in debts. He was dishonest, he lied. "Faulty bookkeeping. No big deal." But you have to ask: If he were a person of color would he have gotten off so easily? I mean, there's clearly double standard here. Bite Me: A white guy, hands off, kid-glove treatment. Charlie Rangel, Maxine Waters? See ya. Time to quit with dignity.
RUSH: Matt, Charleston, South Carolina, welcome to the EIB Network. Hello.
CALLER: Hey, Rush, I always wanted to talk to you.
RUSH: Thank you very much.
CALLER: Hey, Biden said in a recent interview that in Obama's first year in office that he has healed relations with the Muslim world. So I'm wondering why all the fuss over the mosque. I mean everything's fixed now thanks to Obama, right? At least according to Biden.
RUSH: Well, yeah, except a lot of people are trying to move to throw Biden overboard. Douglas Wilder, who invented the Wilder Effect, has written a piece demanding that Biden be thrown off the ticket and replaced by Hillary. We had Gibbs kind of throw Biden overboard yesterday when asked about all the corruption and the fraud and the stimulus package. "Well, the vice president's watching that." And the vice president said the heavy lifting is over. All the work that we're going to do on fixing the economy, we're at 9% unemployment, going to stay there. Economy's as good as we can make it, now it's time to go back to campaigning. So I don't know that people in the administration are really relying on what Vice President Bite Me says. But I get your point nevertheless. It's a great rhetorical point.
CALLER: Rush, thanks for all you do and don't ever change.
RUSH: Well, you know, it's very difficult to change because I'm just being me. If I were acting I could change.
CALLER: And you're great, thank you.
RUSH: Thank you very much, sir, I appreciate that, I really do.

(Reuters) A fund of offshore hedge funds run by two members of VP Joe Biden's family was marketed exclusively by offshore firms controlled by Texas financier Allen Stanford, charged by regulators with an $8 billion fraud, the Wall Street Journal said. The Bidens $50 million fund was jointly branded between the Bidens' Paradigm Global Advisors LLC and the offshore Stanford Financial Group entity headquartered in Antigua, and was known as the Paradigm Stanford Capital Management Core Alternative Fund, the paper said. Stanford-related offshore companies marketed the Biden fund to investors and also invested about $2.7 million of their own money in the fund, the paper said, citing a lawyer for Paradigm.
Paradigm Global Advisors is owned through a holding company by the vice president Biden's son, Hunter, and Joe Biden's brother, James, according to the WSJ. Paradigm's attorney, Marc LoPresti, who represents Hunter Biden and James Biden, as well as Paradigm, told the paper he did not know which Stanford entity invested the roughly $2.7 million.
Marc LoPresti, who represents Hunter Biden and James Biden told the paper the Bidens NEVER met or communicated with Stanford. (/snicker)
JUST WONDERING How did the admin arrive at $20 billion without the benefit of a full investigation of the causes and without a final solution for the problem? How come the $20B agreement between Ohaha and BP was not published?
The buzz is Joe Biden was tapped as the point man----and reportedly told BP---"you give us $20B or we'll take it from you." Biden is the person to watch like a hawk w/ $20B campaign funds floating around.
WH Meeting with BP executives in the Roosevelt Room; taken and released June 16.
(L-R): BP CEO Tony Hayward, BP Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg, BP General Counsel Rupert Bondy, BP Managing Director Robert Dudley, Senior Obama Advisor Valerie Jarrett, Labor Secy Hilda Solis, Attorney General Eric Holder, Biden, Obama and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. Rahm Emanuel also attended.
Keep in mind, Ohaha put Biden in charge of the $$trillion stimulus pkg and that millions in stimulus are being hidden in the states for endangered Dems (unused portions then wire-transferred offshore to numbered accounts?)
"Luckily" endangered Dems now have the $20 billion "campaign donation" Ohaha and Biden extorted from BP.
Officials tell ABC News so far, they found 700 mistaken Congressional districts out of more than 130,000 stimulus grants. On Monday night, ABC reported on errors found on the website set up by the White House to track the number of jobs created or saved by the economic stimulus program. The website was riddled with reports of jobs in places that didn't even exist. That report prompted anger on Capitol Hill, and defensiveness at the White House. On Tuesday night's broadcast, ABC's Chief Congressional Correspondent Jon Karl took another look at the stimulus confusion (link)
LINK---Jon Karl: White House Vows to Correct Stimulus Reports Officials Tell ABC News So Far, They Found 700 Mistaken Congressional Districts Out of More Than 130,000 Stimulus Grants
Nov. 17, 2009 --- ABC NEWS' REPORTS---JONATHAN KARL, Chief Congressional Correspondent
When it comes to stimulus spending, could the wheels of government bureaucracy be grinding too quickly for once? Responding to more inaccuracies discovered in the reporting of spending and job creation from the administration's economic stimulus plan, the top White House official charged with overseeing the program vowed today to go through the reports with a fine-toothed comb and to correct the mistakes.
The promise came after ABC News found that Recovery.gov, the government Web site created to track the expenditures, had many job creation and stimulus spending figures that were attributed to congressional districts that do not exist, or that were incorrectly identified.
"The first time out, we knew there were going to be problems," said Edward DeSeve, special advisor to the president on the stimulus bill. "We don't think there are a lot of them. There are less than 1 percent in terms of the recent concern about congressional districts of the overall reports. And we've got a good commitment from the recovery board to work with us to fix them."
Officials tell ABC News, so far, they have found 700 mistakenly credited congressional districts out of more than 130,000 stimulus grants. The White House's Web site claims that more than 640,000 jobs have already been saved and created by the " $787 billion stimulus program. The reports used to come up with that number are riddled with errors.
In addition to the jobs in non-existent congressional districts reported Monday by ABC News, in real congressional districts, there are also problems, lots of them.
Moore's Shoes in Campbellsville, Ky., claims nine jobs were created from an $890 grant for nine pairs of work boots for the Army Corps of Engineers. Head Start of Augusta, Ga., claimed 317 jobs with a $790,000 grant, but it was really just a one-time raise to its 317 employees.
Chris Whitley is a fiscal officer for Central Savannah River Area Economic Opportunity Authority, which administers the Head Start program in Augusta. He says it was the administration's stimulus help line that advised them to claim 317 jobs. "It wasn't illegal, immoral or unethical. And they told me to do it, so I did it," said Whitley.
The mistakes have prompted anger on Capitol Hill. Rep. David Obey, D-Wis., the powerful chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, was outraged that one sewer project in his district was listed as creating 100 jobs. The real number is five. When asked what he thought when he saw the mistakes in his district, Obey said, "I wanted to strangle somebody."
Obey is demanding the administration fix the mistakes. "Fix the problem, the blessed problem, so that we're getting accurate information. I don't care what people's bureaucratic niceties are, or how hard it is to do it. I mean, they've got to fix the problem, so the American people can understand what the realities are.
It’ so funny, looking at the people in that BP meeting.
The only white people in the room were the ones getting hammered. On the government’s side, the only white guy was Biden, and everybody there knows why he’s the VP.
Even Obama’s bodyman has more juice in that WH than he does.
Isn’t Napolitano white? But I do get the point. There’s no telling what is said about whites in private. I’m sure Michelle is going to laugh her big fat butt off when she’s living it up on the taxpayers’ dime in Spain.
Probably lesbian, which is another special class. I’d be stunned if she wasn’t. Kagan HAS to be.
If this is true, then Obama should be getting really nervous. He'll be next.
I always thought that Biden was Obama's insurance policy against getting impeached if and when any of Obama's personal history finally saw the light of day. Neither party could risk putting the idiot Biden in the driver's seat.
Nixon's insurance policy was Agnew, and he admitted as much. When it was clear that Nixon had to go, they had to get rid of Agnew first.
And Old Bush’s was Quayle.
I bet Hillary is working on Obama, getting Joe out of the way so she can move into the VP position. And then sneakily figure out a way to get Obama impeached.
Killed. Not impeached. That’s the only way it could happen for Hillary. No discussion of whether she qualified or not - simply thrust into the job like Truman.
In fact, Truman’s legacy has grown with time, despite all the tough decisions he had to make. The guts to drop the bomb, to fire MacArthur . . .
She’d even be a late bloomer to the office like Truman.
Hillary would want the VP job only if she had a concrete plan for succession. Otherwise, why would Obama do that to himself - put himself in the same house as someone who clearly wants his job?
Joe was picked because he was a boob. Hillary’s smart and savvy.
