In endorsement battle, score one for DeMint over Palin
CNN ^ | 8/4/10 | Staff

This time a Sarah Palin endorsement wasn't enough for victory. But score another win for Sen. Jim DeMint.

Rep. Todd Tiahrt was edged out by Rep. Jerry Moran in a battle between two conservative congressmen for the Republican Senate nomination in Kansas. Moran is now considered the overwhelming favorite in November's general election to succeed GOP Sen. Sam Brownback, who is running for Kansas governor rather than for re-election to Congress.

Tiahrt was endorsed by the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee in June. In a Facebook post, Palin said Tiahrt was "a protector of our Constitution, a pro-family, pro-Second Amendment commonsense conservative who has never voted for a tax increase."

F... the media. I like both DeMint and Palin. Palin’s record on these endorsements dwarf Jim’s so far, but they’ll take the opportunity to bash Palin when her record on these is significant. It also doesn’t take into account the ground her candidate gained since the endorsement.

Who is the real conservative between these two?

I know they are trying to put in as many RINOS as they can.

Jim DeMint is a very good man! But it`s important to remember that CNN celebrates anything that they can suggest is a loss for Sarah.

Their(CNN) hate for Sarah is so strong. Can you say propaganda

If the Republican nomination battle narrows down to DeMint and Palin, I could enthusiastically support either. And the enemedia would have a royal hissy fit!

Both are very conservative. Anyone who says otherwise is just an idiot.

Sarah and Nikki Haley wouldn't commit their lives to him, He is obsessively crazy about both of them...sad that a man who couldn't have them so turns against them and throws away even his conservatism ( accepting MSM hit pieces) just to bash them

For all her good qualities, Sarah is trying to cram McCain back down our throats here in AZ. Why she would promote this RINO is frankly beyond reason. So, I am hoping that she is wrong at least one more time.

Go JD...

I wonder the same thing. Heck, two years ago I gave money to Hunter but gee this time I would run across the street to be on a dif side from the ant.

Palin has NOT appeared with McCain since early spring. She has been back to AZ a couple of times and appeared with Gov. Brewer, but not McCain.

I agree with you.

You wanna know what these spotlight endorsements are really about?? They do serve a purpose, you know. In every case it is about the endorser! These pols are building a base by chit trading for a future campaign run, for one position or another, to enlarge their profile, and for influence with perceived constituencies that will enhance the nether regions of the endorsers. These obsessions of one-upmanship on endorsement victories is synonomous with 4th grade class politics and beneath the dignity of serious grassrooters.

Tiahrt is the more conservative, but Moran is not a RINO by any means.
