Mike's 'liberty' cry for Muslims
New York Post ^ | Posted: 3:57 AM, August 4, 2010 | By SALLY GOLDENBERG

With the Statue of Liberty as a backdrop, an impassioned Mayor Bloomberg yesterday supported the development of a mosque near Ground Zero and chastised opponents for what he said was trampling on religious freedom.

"I believe that this is an important test of the separation of church and state -- as important a test as we may see in our lifetimes -- and it is critically important that we get it right," the mayor said in remarks on Governors Island -- chosen by the mayor as a symbol of religious freedom in America.

"To cave to popular sentiment would be to hand a victory to the terrorists, and we should not stand for that."

This guy is a blithering idiot! If he is so interested in "religious freedom" than let people put up nativity scenes in the schools and public buildings in NYC.

Yeah, that will happen.

There is more than enough real estate in NYC to build a mosque on. They purposely chose the site near ground zero because in their sick demented minds, it is a place of great victory for Allah! If Bloomberg doesn't know this, than I say let the tarring and feathering begin. I am sick of these rotten, empty headed liberal politicians! I could vomit!!!!!!!!

I just read these great words from a National Review editorial:

No contractor, construction company, or building-trades union that accepts a dime of the Cordoba Initiative’s money should be given a free pass—nobody who sells them so much as a nail, or a hammer to drive it in with. This is an occasion for boycotts and vigorous protests — and, above all, for bringing down a well-deserved shower of shame upon those involved with this project, and on those politicians who have meekly gone along with it. It is an indecent proposal and an intentional provocation.

That's what Bloomberg should have said.

At the same time New York city and the MTA are preventing St. Nicholas church from being rebuilt.

Nanny Bloomberg cares not a wit for liberty.

It’s easier to fake caring about “religious freedom” than it is for him to admit that he is a coward.

He is absolutely disgusting for scolding the families of the dead for their opposition to the mosque. Anybody with a lick of common sense knows that this is wrong!

"...and it is critically important that we get it right," the mayor said...

No doubt a direct quote from an Al-Qaeda training manual.

Karnac, the magnificent, predicts a very firey and explosive future for this POS mosque.

Shouldn’t be standing after about 12 months, if that long.

“I believe that this is an important test of the separation of church and state...

If the first sentence out of his mouth is based on a
false premise the rest is not worth reading.

And, I hope that no brave firefighters that battled 9/11 get hurt as the new mosque burns. In fact, I wonder if they will even fight a fire within the building, burn, baby, burn!

You’d think if Bloomberg was so proud of his decision he
would have made the announcement in front of the MOSQUE
instead of Governors Island.

Right! And he is also a fool, he’ll get no mercy from the Muslims no matter what he does.

If I were a contractor working on this site, I would bury a pig carcass in the floor and would refuse to ever disclose it’s whereabouts. I would also insulate the walls with bacon bits.

Shouldn’t Mikey the Dumbass be practicing pushing the button to drop the New Year’s Eve ball or something meaningful like that?

“Liberty” for Mohmmedans means no liberty for anyone else, except liberty to be Moslems or dead.

And this is what I’ve been saying here . . . don’t let this thing be built. Public pressure on the contractors, suppliers, subcontractors . . . they want the Islamic radical $$$? Then they don’t get our $$$

But they do get their company names and contact info spread virally across the internet. Let’s see if they can make a living off of Islam

"To cave to popular sentiment would be to hand a victory to the terrorists, and we should not stand for that."

Huh? Popular sentiment? The popular sentiment is what runs this country, supposed to anyway. To cave to popular sentiment would not hand victory to terrorist, it would kill them.

He is a blithering idiot.

I thought that the views of the people that you are elected to SERVE mattered. A huge majority are against the mosque, and for good reason. I mean, if you didn’t allow a mosque funded by a terrorist loving imam to be built a stones throw away from ground zero, than that would be a victory for the terrorists? Makes perfect sense doesn’t it?

He is indeed a complete idiot!
