Mika Rips Crist Switch, Joe Sees More Going Indy
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Odd bit of role reversal on today's Morning Joe . . .

There was Mika Brzezinski, ripping Charlie Crist as unprincipled for his mid-campaign ditching of the Republican party. Joe Scarborough, a former GOP congressman from the Sunshine State, was in a much more forgiving mood, going so far as to predict that, following in Crist's footsteps, many others would successfully go the independent route.

Mika and Joe's exchange was triggered by the news that Crist's own Lieutenant Governor, Jeff Kottkamp, has endorsed Marco Rubio for Senate.

Getting lectures from Mika on “principles” is like getting diet tips from Michael Moore.

Izzy, IMHO, at least in this case, Mika is standing up for principle, whereas Joe is cynically suggesting that Crist made the right move.

Mika at least admits she's a liberal while the GE whore Joe claims he's a conservative. I can't wait for the POS show to be canceled.

... which makes it about as rare as diet tips from Michael Moore...

Did she say the same thing when Specter jumped the fence?

Did she say the same thing when a democrat jumped the fence?

Or is it just an opportunity to dump on an "R"?

But Izzy, the point is that Crist is no longer an R, and by dumping on him, Mika helps the real R, Rubio.

Well, maybe I'm just having a hard time believing that Mika could show any principles, having heard the crap she's done before.

But you watch the show, so that I don't have to, so I will yield to your more-informed opinion.

Izzy, of course I disagree with Mika on most of the issues, but actually see her as quite fair-minded, within her own context. An example: she’s one of the rare liberal media types who has declined to dump on Sarah Palin.

Scarborough has made a deal with the devil. He's proof that evolution CAN go in reverse.

I agree. Mika is one of the more intellectually honest Deomcrats out there. Besides, she’s hot.

Heck, we switched to Indy here in Arizona. The GOP permitted open primaries to help McCain sleaze into his chair again, so there’s no consequence to not being a “republikan”. Why subject myself to their pathetic mewlings? I support conservatives openly, though. If the GOP does make it necessary to be registered in order to participate, we will of course reconsider. Right now, though, there’s simply no reason for us to be.

We won’t know how successfully Crist’s switch went until November, Joe.

What were Mika’s comments when Arlen switched?
