An August Surprise from Obama?
Reuters ^ | August 5, 2010 | James Pethokoukis

Obama and his minions are nearly ready to unleash stimulus forces via Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to "forgive" part of the mortgage debt of Americans who are underwater on their homes (1 out of 5 homeowners).

This would explain Fannie and Freddie not being included in the “Economic Retardation Bill”

The animosity that would spread across the country would be deep and instant.

Time for everyone to stop paying their mortgages. What’s the point? You work hard, give up big chunks of your personal life, avoid buying more than you can pay for, pay off your bills, and your tax money becomes a handout to those who did few or none of the above. What’s the point?

Why is anyone surprised that B.O. is going to order Freddie and Fannie to forgive mortgage principal? He already ordered Bank of America to do just that a long time ago. They just began implementing it last Monday according to my sources:

Perhaps he won’t be going to Martha’s Vineyard? That would be a surprise.

Way down in the article:

“The political calculation is that the number of grateful Americans would be greater than those offended that they — and their children and their grandchildren — would be paying for someone else’s mortgage woes.”

I’d like to think that the American people are smart enough to see through this, especially those that are planning to vote this fall.

Obama said he would pay my mortgage!
It’s about time he kept his word!

He’ll just get the money from his Obama-stash!

If this passes, the stock markets will nosedive.

Time for everyone to stop paying their mortgages.

Maybe not yet, but certainly it will be if this occurs!

We're down to picking what will essentially be the final straw.

Just one more thing to add to the bill of impeachment.

He does not have the authority to do this (I know, he does not have the authority to do a lot of things he is doing).

If things continue like they have (and I see nothing changing them) Obama will be impeached and kicked out of office.

Homosexuals think they won a victory yesterday. If so, it will be temporary (relative to history).

I think it was a mistake for the left to create finacial turmoil in this nation. They saw it as a way to advance their causes, but what it does is stirs up middle America.

Americans are more likely to go along to get along when times are good, no so much when times are bad. Middle America is nervous about their future. Everything they have worked for is going down the toilet. They have been underattack for years, a backlash is coming.

I do not know in what form the backlash will come, but it is on its way.

In Obama's mind, not a bad byproduct.

So if you are underwater and your mortgage is not held by Fannie/Freddie, you can go ahead and grab your ankles. If this goes through, I am strategically defaulting.

I don’t remember anybody helping me pay off my mortgage. If this is done, it is a “financial step over the line!”. This is UNFAIR, totally UNFAIR to anybody who has worked all his/her life to proudly PAY for their home. I went through recessions during Carter ... but he didn’t offer to pay my mortgage.
