California’s Prop. 8 Still In Effect

Despite the landmark ruling striking down California's ban on same sex marriage, nothing has really changed. Gay and lesbian couples still can't get married, because Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker issued a temporary stay on his decision.

Prop. 8 is still in effect while he considers whether his order should be suspended pending an appeal. Lawyers on both sides are presenting arguments either in favor of, or opposed to, allowing gay weddings to resume. Tomorrow, Walker is expected to to rule on this very critical question of if, and when, the state will stop enforcing the 2008 voter-approved ban on gay marriage.

In the meantime, gay activists are celebrating yesterday's landmark ruling. Hundreds of people marched along Market Street, many of them carrying rainbow flags and American flags, as well as signs that read "we all deserve the freedom to marry."

Celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres are tweeting "Equality Won!" -- an opinion shared by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, as well as President Obama. A White House spokesman says President Obama may not support gay marriage personally, but he believes Prop. 8 is "divisive and discriminatory."

But supporters of the ban say the ruling is "judicial activism" that defies the will of the 7-million Californians who voted to limit marriage to a man and a woman. The National Organization for Marriage says that, if it's allowed to stand, the ruling threatens not just Prop. 8 here in California, but the laws in 45 other states that define valid marriage the same way. The case now moves to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which has jurisdiction over 9 Western states. The outcome there could force the U.S. Supreme Court to decide whether gays and lesbians have a constitional right to marry the person they love.

Thank God a stay has been put on the outrageous ruling by this activist homosexual judge.

Always thank God because "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning".

That being said, the activist homosexual judge was the one who issued the temporary 'stay' - and odds are high that after he gets a chance to review his own decision that he'll decide, 'by golly - I was right'... and lift the 'stay'.

God has promised to provide for those that honor HIM.
Unfortunately we as a Nation, and certainly the state of Kali-fornia, have turned from the LORD, and shunned HIS blessings, and merited the curses of Deuteronomy 28:

15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
16 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.

"I do not understand the political system in your country!", he said - being a legally admitted foreigner on a legal visa (I know - highly unlikely....but still...)

"You put a measure onto a ballot...you argue about it for some time....then you vote on the issue...for or against."

"Then the measure is either passed or it fails."

"Then, if it passes, one of your judges can - on the flimsiest evidence...or even no evidence at all....just their opinion...overturn the results of the election."

"So...I put it to you....why do you have elections?"

"Why do you not just hand your measures to the judges and let them decide since that is what they do anyway?"

"It is surely an interesting system you have here....but one under which I most certainly would not like to live."

As he steps aboard his plane to fly back to his country, he turns and says, "Good bye Americans....and good luck! You're gonna need it."
