Minnesota winters salt and sand. Small, light cars rust out too fast to invest that sum of money. My buddy’s Geo Metro frame got so bad the axle would slip out of the trans instead of moving forward, 11 years old, and the newer cars are just getting lighter and lighter

I’m taking my time looking now while I still have a good car, knowing I wouldn’t want to be desperate in need of wheels in this market, constantly see cars with 200,000 miles and they still want top dollar, not in this conservative’s world

Not to be morbid, but watch the obits for good heavy cars with low miles for cheap.
