Christine O’Donnell, a conservative activist, is challenging Rep. Mike Castle, the popular congressman and former governor, in Delaware’s Sept. 14 GOP Senate primary. You may recognize her from television. On her website, she details her media history: She has appeared on Hardball, The O’Reilly Factor, Hannity & Colmes, Politically Incorrect, and Entertainment Tonight, to name a few. Once, on CNN’s Crossfire, Democratic strategist James Carville called her “one hip woman.” O’Donnell, who was recently endorsed by the Tea Party Express, stopped by National Review this week to talk about her race:

A mid-July Rasmussen poll shows O’Donnell running two points ahead of Chris Coons, the likely Democratic nominee, 41 percent to 39 percent. Sen. Jim DeMint (R., S.C.) is also a fan. “She’s a principled conservative who has been overlooked by the Washington establishment,” his spokesman says. “The senator has not made an endorsement in this race but he’s watching it closely to see if O’Donnell can get within striking distance.”

I just love her. I intend to send a contribution.

I’d be shocked if Mark Levin doesn’t have her on again, btw.

Go Christine!

Oh, do I agree with you!

WE DO HAVE A CHOICE!

Christine's unyielding positions:

Pro-Constitution - Pro-National Defense - Pro-Life - Pro-Family - Pro-Second Amendment - Pro-States Rights - Pro-Border Security - Pro-Free Market - Pro-Freedom - Anti-High Taxes - Anti-Big Government - Anti-ObamaCare. (Aren't these the values we said we are looking for?)

I am not a fan... but anyone familiar with voter turnout in Delaware should be able to recognize that yes, she can score the upset win in the primary.

I’m not sure about her , but given Castle’s positions on Cap and Trade , amnesty, assault weapons bans, etc., etc., I’ll take a chance on her over a proven liberal like Mikey.

I cant stand Castle but at the same time worry that Christine isnt ready for prime time. Of course if Patty Murray and Al Franken can be senators I suppose anyone can.

Hoping for the best, but nervous.

This is the smallest of primaries. It is NOT a huge media market. It’s likely to be a race of about 100,000.

We can kick this uber-RINO out. And we should. I would rather have a Dem than this pretender.

The numbers tell us he votes with the Republicans about 25% of the time. That makes the Maine girls look like pikers.

We should make this a FReeper Project, to get O’Donnell elected and kick out Castle.

Because this is one of the seats that must be seated IMMEDIATELY, not in January. She can be one of the speed bumps to stop the lame duck session!

Even though I’m laid off, with no unemployment check, I intend to find the money to send her a contribution, modest as it might be.

Perhaps you will join me.

Dems who arent ready can easily get elected, they arent scrutinized. Reps dont have that luxury.

In a column on Red State a week or so ago, Eric Edwards wrote that the fix is in, that Castle has already agreed to change parties after his election, and that he has essentially promised to then vacate the seat for Beau Biden. Has anyone heard more about this?

unfortunately, the latest Rassmussen numbers are not encouraging:

Castle 49 (+2 from last month)
Coons 37 (+1)

Coons 46 (+5)
O’Donnell 36 (-3)

I agree that Christine would be a better senator than Mike... IF she can beat Coons (D).

Primary day will be a tough decision.

It's a fair point. I suspect that had Krazy Joe started out in the same kind of 24/7 cable TV/internet world we live in today, we all would have been spared three decades of him being wrong on everything.
