Democrats Under Stress

WASHINGTON -- Politicians under stress tend to confirm, not refute, the criticisms that got them into trouble in the first place. Vacillating politicians vacillate. Thin-skinned politicians explode.

Democrats are now feeling enormous political stress. Independents have fled the Obama coalition, largely out of concern about debt, deficits and spending. Intensity is all on the Republican and conservative side. A recent Gallup poll found that the percentage of Republican voters who say they are "very enthusiastic" to vote in 2010 is twice the percentage of Democrats who say the same (44 percent to 22 percent). President Obama's job approval now flirts with 40 percent, with solid majorities disapproving his handing of the economy, deficits and health care.

Anne Coutler is right. Articles like these keep saying that there are extremes within the tea party that deserve criticism. Let's hear some examples. While it is PC to say that there are extremes on both sides, I have yet to hear anyone talk about the widespread (or even limited) extremism affiliated with the tea party.

On the left, it is easy. Union thugs beating up a number of conservatives (well documented), the Marxists in the White House, Katie Couric (he, he).

Let's not accept the line that there are extremists on our side without examples. Oh, and people using the “N” word to Congressmen (never proven - $100,000 still out there!) and spitting on Congressmen don't count. They are just lies.

The 70+ percent vote AGAINST ObamaCare in Missouri this past Tuesday has really got the Congressional Democrats crapping down both legs. They were shocked at the voter outrage. Can't imagine why. Just because they shoved the Health Care debacle down our throats with us yelling "Don't do this...."
