Obama's top economic advisor, professor Christina Romer, is quitting.
Apparently the decision is her own, and the split is cordial, although not surprisingly she didn't get as much access to the President as she'd hoped.

“Those who can’t do, teach” comes to mind.
Yep, by losing in influence at the WH she gained by getting out the sooner.
As much of an “economist” ...as Kagan is a “judge”...as he is a “president”....talk about a ship of fools!!!
Whatever her resumé is, she horribly misjudged her employer’s intentions if she thought he was committed to a healthy economy based on capitalism.
Maybe she could have gotten more access to El Presidente if she took up GOLF...???
From the pictures and news clips I have seen of her, she probably left to go root for truffles.
“Might be time to buy essentials now at reasonable prices, in case you need them later when they might cost more.”
Been doing that since before the 2008 elections. Every time a container is empty - get it from the stash, buy 1 to replace, and 1 or 2 for the extra pantry. If it is a really good special buy 4-10 extra. Now up to about 6 months of all items(more than that for bare necessities).

Spot on. The grown-ups are leaving the party.
I think we’re now in for a season of truly silly policy analysis and proposals from the idealistic children who will be brought in or promoted to take their places.
Yes, I thought I recalled seeing that she used to write and say quite sensible things . . . before she went to work for Obama!
