China opposes Vietnam's accusation on South China Sea islands

BEIJING, Aug. 6 (Xinhua)-- China firmly opposes any remarks and actions that violate its sovereignty over Xisha Islands and adjacent waters in the South China Sea, said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu here on Friday.
Jiang made the comment after Vietnamese foreign ministry spokeswoman Nguyen Phuong Nga said Thursday, according to media reports, that Chinese vessels' seismic exploration activities near Xisha Islands had violated Vietnam's sovereignty.
"China has indisputable sovereignty over Xisha Islands and adjacent waters," Jiang reiterated in a news release.

Morning TigerLikesRooster,
China and Vietnam have had “skermishes” in the past, any possibility of it happening again as a result of these
Islands?
Ya gots to know there is oil under them or no one would give a damn.
I think U.S. is trying to build its SE Asian flank. Charlie in the South West, S. Koreans & Japanese in the North East. U.S. in the middle. That is how it shapes up, from China's view.
And the possibility of the Chi-coms moving to take back Taiwan?
With the marxist moosie in charge it may be the optimal time for them to do it.
These aren’t the Spratly Islands, are they?
