Mayor Bloomberg won’t stop talking about the mosque near Ground Zero, harshly attacking opponents yesterday who “ought to be ashamed of themselves.”

Sounding more supportive of freedom of religion than freedom of speech, Bloomberg said, "I just don't think the government should tell people where they can pray and where they can build houses of worship.

"It is a shame that we even have to talk about this," the mayor added on his WOR radio broadcast.

The mayor ratcheted up his rhetoric against critics just days after defending the mosque in an impassioned speech on Governors Island, with the Statue of Liberty as a backdrop.

Whether we like it or not, he’s right. It’s part of our freedoms of religion....not “government approved” religion.

In this case it’s really the Jewish against the Muslim religions. If they were building a christian church there, no problem would exist.

Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s a “finger in the eye” gift from the Muslims too.

Perhaps the mayor could arrange to have a mosque on the top floors of the Freedom Tower, if the tower ever gets built.

Islam is far more than a religion. It is a violent political ideology with its own laws and court system. Religion is only one component of islam and is used to impose islam on non muslim societies. Islam is anathema to the U.S. Constitution. The two cannot coexist. A mosque at ground zero will be a symbol to muzzies we capitulate our Constitution to islam. These are facts lost on Mayor Neville Chamberlain Bloomberg.

Bloomberg and his sudden support for “rights” can go eff himself.

He denies people the right to eat what they want and smoke what they want and run their own business to serve the patrons they want without batting a communist lash.

Now, suddenly, he’s very concerned with the rights of the people and the government not stepping on those rights.

If we continue to allow the left to use the Constitution against us, we will lose that Constitution.

There is nothing wrong and we have a duty to protest those acts which undermine our culture.

The failed Mayor of New York ought to be ashamed of himself for failing to see or respect the wishes of the people. The mosque proponents should also respect the wishes of their neighbors and host country and move their proposed location to a less controversial place in the city.

But no, they have to rub salt on the wounds by insisting on a location that insults most of the country.

Like the Democrat he is, RINO Bloomberg can only make fun of the survivors of the 9/11 tragedy by blindly accepting a monument to the perpetrators of the tragic event.
