In one company where I worked, it was policy to escort the fired worker off the premises to make sure he or she left. Perhaps now, the ‘brass’ will have to hire an armed police officer as well.

the families of the dead should sue.
There is no proof that any of the victims were guilty of racism. It is simply slander to so...

That is a good policy to have. Management should have been prepared for this and probably would have been in a less PC world. This guy knew what was coming and he knew what he was going to do when he went in that morning.

The families must be in mourning right now, but when they are ready, I hope they speak out on behalf of their loved ones, who can no longer speak for themselves.

In the meantime, people who know the victims well (co-workers, friends, perhaps) needs to come forward to defend their characters, which have been defamed by this murderer-- who is appears to be getting all the sympathy and support.

Oops, typos. It should read:

In the meantime, people who know the victims well (co-workers, friends, perhaps) need to come forward to defend their characters, which have been defamed by this murderer--who appears to be getting all the sympathy and support.

Agreed. It is a travesty that the media is playing into the hands of this killer and his family.

Last time I had to fire a guy I brought a little "friend" with me. The guy was nuts. He had been scaring the crap out of female co-workers talking about how he liked to "kill things".

Of course, had that "friend" been known by HR or management I would have been fired.
