Michelle Obama chooses quiet dinner over celebrity gala
Michelle Obama chose a quiet dinner with friends over a star-studded charity gala on the last night of her holiday in Spain, disappointing guests who had hoped to meet her.

Expectation had been high that the First Lady would be the special guest at Marbella’s event of the year – a celebrity charity dinner hosted by Hollywood stars Antonio Banderas and Eva Longoria.
Mrs Obama had been widely tipped to attend the event at the Villa Padierna, where she was spending a four day mini-break with her youngest daughter Sasha, nine, after she received a personal invitation from Ms Longoria, star of Desperate Housewives, who lent her support to Barack Obama during his presidential campaign.
More than 400 tickets had been sold for Saturday's Starlite gala at 1,000 euros each, according to organisers, and reports suggested that this week another 200 people had applied for tickets and were on a waiting list after learning that Mrs Obama might be present.

That was not a very nice thing for her to do.
If a supporter asks you to appear at a charity gala, you ought to man up and at least show up to shake hands and do the pretty.
And aside from it not being the right thing to do, even from a purely practical standpoint it is very stupid not to do a favor for a supporter that costs you only a couple of hours of your time.
These people have no class, but more importantly they have no brains.

Is that what those expensive vacations are called now? Well, of course. How dense of we little folks not to understand that. What was the Maine vacation? What was the NC vacation? What was the Gulf vacation? Just weekend outings, I guess! Will the next Gulf trip be a vacation? How about the one to Cape Cod this month?
When are they going to rest up from all these vacations? They are going to be absolutely exhausted. Sigh!!

I’m not sure, but maybe a “mini-break” is what comes just before a complete breakdown.
A very bad thing to do. I go to Spain all the time and know that the Spanish are meticulous about etiquette. She blew it big time.
Of course, influential Spaniards are all raving leftists, so expect El Pais to come out praising her tomorrow. But regular Spaniards (including some important ones) are not going to be happy.

Then again, if they invited her she could at least have made a classic appearance then had a private dinner. Did I just use the word class? I digress.
This is typical of socialists that gain power. They don’t care about those beneath them..........or who they perceive to be beneath them. Socialists today just don’t get it and don’t pay attention to history. Those in power know this and play on their ignorance. You would think that after 100 years of trying to change the nation to socialism, they would learn. It just doesn’t work. If it did work, they would all be slaves by now.
Spain has a fertility rate of 1.1 among its indigenous population. It is a dead man walking that will disappear under an Islamic tsunami within two generations. Spanish leftists don't have very much time remaining to party.
