Proving damages is going to be very interesting. All those businesses that didn't report all their income, the feds impeding BP’s efforts, the lack of oil on most beaches, and the federal law limiting liability at $75 million are going to be major obstacles for the plaintiffs. Anyone expecting this case to be resolved within ten years is naive.

The biggest losses won’t be from the oil leak, but from Barry Salazar shutting down the Gulf oil industry. I’d love to see the feds sued for that.

I don't know if it will ever be resolved. Just look at the Pigford case that involved SHERROD. Even though it was 'settled', it is still ongoing and has had more money thrown into the pile for distribution to anyone who is Black, or African-American (whatever that means), and 'claims' to be a farmer, or to have been one, or to have known one.

Yes. A lot of money will be changing hands, greasing palms, laundered through this case and then donated back to the Politicians(lawyers) who picked the location and the judge. The Judge is probably already rubbing his hands together in anticipation of the new 'cash flow'.
