DENVER Tea party favorite Ken Buck has defeated former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton to clinch Colorado's Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate.
The vote Tuesday was seen as another blow to politicians with close connections to Washington. Norton was endorsed by GOP leadership and co-chaired John McCain's presidential campaign two years ago in Colorado.
Buck, a Weld County prosecutor, was little known before he began courting tea party groups more than a year ago. He trailed Norton in fundraising but used his law enforcement credentials in vowing to crack down on "criminals" at home and in Washington.

GREAT
The riino, Norton lost...Juan McCain’s pick
Good News
This what the Tea Party is all about. Getting rid of the RINO establishment candidates.
Now we need 0bama to come in and campaign for Bennet.
There has been some serious rino slaying tonight! Even better Bennett won the senate race on the dem side. I think he will be easier to beat than Romanoff would have been.
Half the battle is over the real fight has just begun.
But once again I cant restate enough, who we send to Washington is of little importances compared to taking control of our State and Local governments.
Washington D.C. is too corrupt and powerful a place to seriously give up power, we need control of the State governments more then anything else. Only they can really win the war.

I think you’re right.

The new democRAT strategy is to have 0bama campaign for all the republican candidates.
can't wait for a republican to pick my pocket, ( so much better than when a democrat does it)
Or even better, his lovely wife! /s
Colorado voters, Remember November!!!! Vote and destroy the Democrat Party that is destroying America!!! Congrats to Ken Buck!!! Obama and his Democrat ilk must go!!!
Did Sarah Palin endorse Buck??
I agree- the states are going to have to step up- it will be both difficult and interesting. Local and state governments are corrupt too, but there are some decent people there, and if people will just get off their collective butts, something can be done there. Someone just needs to flush the toilet on Congress and be done with it.
Palin endorsed no one, it looked like she was going to endorse Norton, so the non-endorsement may have hurt Norton.
Jim DeMint is the big winner in CO as he backed Buck early and heavily.
Bennett has a big derivatives problem when he was running the Denver schools. If the RNC has a half decent oppo team, he's going to get crushed.
I have a question.
I’m looking at the numbers here on the 7news site. I kept this page open while I put my Sons to bed, Here’s what it reads:
Democrat Primary - U.S. Senate
72% reporting ( 3965 precincts )
Vote count
Michael Bennet 54.2%(160,205)
Andrew Romanoff 45.7%(135,042)
Total: 295,207

Republican Primary - U.S. Senate
72% reporting ( 3965 precincts )
Vote count
Ken Buck 51.5%(169,328)
Jane Norton 48.4%(159,317)
Total: 328,645
At that point during this, we outnumbered the dems by 33,438.
One would think that ACORN-types would have made a bigger dent in this. While I’m sure that they did some screwing around for this election, do you think that our sheer number saved the day, and that it could be echoed nationwide?
You are of course right that many states are indeed corrupt too, but the genius of using them to fight Washington’s power grabs and start forcefully reversing theses trends is that the corrupting influence of power can work in our favor from the perspective of the state.
We need merely to convene them to turn their guns on Washington D.C. and make life difficult for D.C. In the long run we can control the state with our more powerful ballot and feet voting. which is by my estimate 2 important steps up on the Federal Government. Meaning victory is at least possible for us as apposes to our existing situation where despite our best efforts we have only lost ground.
We need the States to step up more then anything else or Washington D.C. (and Ironically enough the states too due to growing dependency on the same) will simply grow even more un-weldable.
Yes, Obama is the kiss of death...except perhaps in CA.
OMG is Boxer going to win???
