More About Tyler Collins, the Man Who Posed as a Rand Paul Fan, Complete With Tinfoil Hat
Slate ^ | August 11, 2010 | David Weigel

Posted on 08/11/2010 12:48:01 PM PDT by Second Amendment First

I just talked to Tyler Collins, who politely declined to comment as he adjusts to life as the subject of a multi-tier campaign of citizen journalism investigating his life as a Democratic activist. You know Collins. He was the guy who dressed up as a slack-jawed "Rand Paul fan," wearing a tinfoil hat and holding a sign that echoed/parodied conservative fears about illegal immigration.

Why is Collins lying low? Because he has a long picture and paper trail as a Democratic activist.

you yourself admitted that you were not going to give any specific reasons why Paul is a kook

I should do research for you? What will you pay?

Wow, I thought I was just expressing an opinion.

OK. Just be sure to wipe thoroughly and flush after you’ve expressed your next one.

“Yet Tyler Collins is more than just a lying supporter of Jack Conway. His distaste for the tea party movement runs deep as well. In a June issue of a Crittenden County, Kentucky newspaper, Collins was paid (according to an anonymous source) to write a guest political column. He cites the Bible in his opposition to the tea party movement and apparently anything else he can come up with.”

Gee, this piece starts out so well I thought there might be hope for some reasonable thinking at Slate, but then Weigel decides its not such a big deal that an Obama supporter attempted to liable the Tea Party as racist, since what dedicated, young, Democrat activist hasn’t dressed up and infiltrated a rally, pretending to be a right-wing nut?

I'm sorry, Mr. Obama, that I'm not allowed one of those.

No one said you weren't.

Yep, saw it. She was not a teacher, but a theatre technician. And like most leftie women (women?) she is really really ugly.

And really really unhappy and vile.

The pervert Paul would basically limit our National Security to non-existent and as he already does would continually make excuses for terrorism by blaming America and our allies. He is also 100% anti-liberty being that he seeks to force his perverted agenda of gay rights in the military on our troops as well.

Calling those who support our National Security neo-con. You would fit in well with the losers at Code Pink.

It’s the Paul family position.

His Poppy is a kook. He mirrors Poppy.

He’s a kook.

“Part of the reason we are bankrupt as a country is that we are fighting so many foreign wars and have so many military bases around the world. I don’t say, ‘Out of Iraq now!’ I say out of Iraq two or three years ago, or never go in – even better.”

“You have to ask yourself, do you create more terrorists than you kill? We inflamed an entire region there and I don’t think it was the best thing for our national defense or for our country. We similarly have to decide if putting missiles in Poland is going to provoke Russia or if we can afford to put missiles in Poland.”

“I think that these issues [the economy and maintaining the American “empire:”] become the political coalition you need to win a race because there are people from the left who acknowledge the vast expenditure of the military industrial complex. There are some on the right that are beginning to understand that. It’s really that sort of right-left paradigm that you bring these groups together in order to try to win an election.”

First, my feelings about the Paul family run similar to you. (okay, a little more moderate). However, my humble reaction to the gunner's points would be this:

1) Rand is not as kooky as Ron; and 2) he sure as h*ll ain't as kooky as Socialist Jack Conway.

Ergo, Paul for Kentucky! At least he hates to spend your money!

Crikey, you really make me spell it out! I’ll stay away from your tent.

“Paul, like his father Ron (the libertarian Republican congressman), fancies himself a strict constitutionalist opposed to globalists and what he and others in the so-called “Patriot movement” call the New World Order. And this view of politics has led Paul to keep unusual company—such as his appearances on the radio show of Alex Jones, an anti-government conspiracy theorist and one of the more prominent proponents of the idea that the Bush administration was complicit in the 9/11 attacks.

Rand Paul does have a 9/11 problem. In December, Chris Hightower, his campaign communications director, resigned after the news hit that his personal website contained racist material and suggestions that the U.S. government was involved in the 9/11 attacks. Afterward, when Paul’s campaign was asked if he agreed with Hightower regarding 9/11, the campaign said it was a “complicated situation” with “truth on both sides.” Given all this, Paul’s connection with Jones is a bit suspicious. (CLARIFICATION: Hightower had written a letter supporting Ron Paul’s claim that 9/11 had been the result of U.S. policy overseas, and the Rand Paul campaign was partly defending Hightower on this point.)”

Humblegunner, I respect you for your roots in American politics and culture.

But I have to say, you are out of touch with current economic reality. In the past we had the money to spend like there is no tomorrow on the military and we don’t have that anymore. Ron Paul was wacky in the past when we had the money; now you are wacky in the present reality when we have no money.

We permitted foreign countries and interests and globalists to use us for their military power for their own purposes. We could afford this globalist scheme in the past. We can not afford it now. We need to focus our self defense to protect the homeland with overwhelming force and let the foreigners defend themselves.
