Coulter to Keynote for Homosexualist GOPride

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 11, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) -- GOProud, which bills itself as the "only national organization representing gay conservatives," has announced that well-known conservative author Ann Coulter is headlining their first annual "Homocon."

The announcement shocked both advocates of traditional family values and homosexualist advocates of "gay rights," who have previously attacked Coulter for her supposedly homophobic language and beliefs.

Christopher Barron, Chairman of the Board of GOProud, said he could think of no "conservative more fun to headline our inaugural party then the self-professed ‘right-wing Judy Garland’--Ann Coulter." Judy Garland is an icon among homosexuals.

“The gay left has done their best to take all the fun out of politics, with their endless list of boycotts and protests," said Barron. "Homocon is going to be our annual effort to counter the ‘no fun police’ on the left."

The GOProud "party" will be taking place Saturday, September 25, in New York City. Sponsorships of the event, which include two tickets, are available for $2500, while general admission tickets go on sale August 20th for $250.

Peter La Barbera, president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) said that Coulter should reconsider her appearance at the event. "As a fan of Ann Coulter, it pains me to see her cave in to political correctness and lend credibility to the phony homosexual "conservatives" over at GOProud," he stated.

He said that half of GOProud's top 10 federal priorities center on advancing homosexuality. The federal legislative priorities that GOProud endorses include repealing the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" ban on homosexuals serving in the military, "defending" the Constitution by "opposing any anti-gay federal marriage amendment," and changing the tax code in a way that "will provide equity for gays and lesbians."

Pandering to groups like this isn't helpful.

We have fallen so fast; it's no surprise we get the “whatever they do in the privacy of their rooms is ok”.

We will see 3 person marriages next, and NAMBLA be mainstream in 25 years.
Our nation will not survive it; no culture has.

Now, in continuing, I spoke in generalities before, but there are specifics that also need to be addressed. Peter La Barbera has made several charges that the GOProud does indeed violate legitimate conservative principles by embracing the causes of the Left:

- Repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”
- Opposing any anti-gay federal marriage amendment
- Providing equity for gays and lesbians through the tax code.

These are pretty serious issues, and viewing their “About Me” section...

http://www.goproud.org.php5-12.dfw1-2.websitetestlink.com/federal-legislative-priorities/

...reveals that they are definitely engaged in identity politics. To them, “Defending Our Constitution” has an entry of “opposing any anti-gay federal marriage amendment.” To them, “Fighting Global Extremists” is combating foreign regimes who seek to criminalize gays and lesbians. Even community entrepreneurship is defined within the context of gays and lesbians.

That does concern me, and Peter La Barbera is right to bring that up. I am only concerned about Americans - I don’t want anyone substituting anything the word “white, black, Hispanic, Catholic, Protestant, gay, lesbian” or whatever else when it comes to the Constitution. It is for all people, and all people are meant to be shielded from the oppression that others may want to bring.

They can’t claim to want free market healthcare reform, and then in the very next sentence encourage expanding access to domestic partner benefits (through the law). Those are contradictory statements.

So, I do see them as against conservatism. You can be conservative without being religious, but this group is certainly not conservative.

Having said that, I still would like to hear Ann speak first before blasting her.

“Yeah, she’s walking among scum just like that guy 2000 years ago. Hmmm. What was his name again?”

####

So we can expect her to say, like He did:

“Go and sin no more.”

Right?

FR is a conservative site. We do not appreciate our members fighting against us on our conservative values and issues. If you wish to support homosexual marriage or homosexuals in the military or hate crimes against us for speaking out against government promotion of homosexuality that’s your business, but you’d better do it somewhere else and not on FR. If you value your posting privileges, that is. FR is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-marriage, pro-military, pro-traditional American conservatism and it is a privilege to post here. Those who support the godless liberal/Marxist destruction of our free society and our country are free to exercise their free speech rights elsewhere. I won’t stand in your way.

If appeasing sodomites, a behavior NEVER intended to be protected by the constitution, is the means to “save” the constitution....then what has been saved? It certainly isn’t the COTUS.

Let me summarize the COTUS for you -- MIND YOUR OWN DAMN BUSINESS.

If that's appeasing sodomites, then I'm for appeasing sodomites.

Yes Ramius, you are right. And in retrospect I may have jumped the gun in my response. BUT........
I do fear that we are going to see some of those who seem to espouse true conservatism and the high moral compass that used to be a part of the party,..........jump ship.

I reserve my final comment and sit back watching!! lol

Give her enough money and stage upon which to speak, and I’m sure she’ll come and speak to you.

But I not entirely certain they’re gonna like what she says...

Isn’t Coulter supposed to be a Catholic? And doesn’t headquarters state clearly that homosexuality is wrong? Who is directing whom?

Since the Church welcomes homosexuals and preaches to them, I don’t think it would have any problem with Ann speaking to them.

I’m sure Ann haunts FR sometimes - it would be nice if she were to post here and clarify why she would speak to such a group.

Good Bye Ann, you have joined the human scum.

I don't mean to pick on you, Cheetahcat - but I'm going to have to step up on my soapbox for a minute. Please don't take it personally. There were many posts like this that made me raise an eyebrow - I just responded to yours.

This kind of vitriol...this condescending dehumanization and disrespect for people who do not think like you do - who do not have the same lifestyle as you - these are some of the very reasons why we end up with someone like Obama in the whitehouse.

People on here preach about how being conservative also has a moral component. Words like these give conservatives a bad name.

Homosexuality was against the law in many states until the Supreme Court ruled that it wasn’t.

Just because you got tricked once, doesn’t mean that all “women” are men in drag.

Ann’s a babe and 100% woman.

So long as they want low taxes, small government, a strong national defense and defend ALL the Bill of Rights, I couldn't care less what they do in the privacy of their own home...

From the article: "He said that half of GOProud's top 10 federal priorities center on advancing homosexuality."

Uh, ok.

I noticed that too. Pretty knee jerk reaction on that one.

However, as I understood her, she was defending Breitbart by saying he was not attacking Sharrod but pointing out the REACTION of the NAACP crowd to the early racist parts of her story.

Thanks for narcing on me boy. Classy. I understand that I'm a guest on Jim's site, and I appreciate that more than you'll understand. So I know to tread lightly (punny) when I have a differing view than The Man (again that's him, and decidedly not you). I worry of banishment, but was willing to walk along the edge of that cliff to downplay some of the less-reasoned (compared to Jim's post 93), raw ignorance displayed here.

And I really doubt AC becomes a FR persona non grata, so looks like there might be some wiggle room, Sparky.

Thanks for narcing on me boy.

Another one who doesn't know posting rules. If you quote someone on the board or mention their name, YOU PING THEM. And if you think the boss doesn't know who's posting what, think again.

FR policy is NOT to support the homosexual agenda. As he said, anyone working against that is on the wrong forum.

And I'm NOT a boy. Nor am I named "Sparky"
