Both the House and Senate had to come back to the sweltering swamp this week to vote on unfinished business. In their haste to get out of the broiling temps, nobody noticed a $600-million "border security bill," approved first in the Senate and then by the House, actually violated procedures mandated by Article 1, Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution: "All bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives."LOL! Gotta love it! Ollie sticks the knife in and twists. And he's just as cool as a cucumber about it.
To: smoothsailing
That was absolutely beautiful the way Ollie put that.
That fiasco reflects on just how inept the people running the House and Senate are. At least the Democrats in the past had some inkling of how business was done, now they’re only worried about the next election and how to keep their fellow Rats out of jail.

WOW! Does that ever depict the current bunch of Rats running the country.
Can’t wait for November, there’ll be less of them.

Just blame it on the heat."That darned Constitution! When will people give it a rest?" - Congress
Not one Republican up there thought to bring that up?

“For those who think it’s hot here, it was 107 degrees in Helmand Province today. And over there, Americans go to work in flak jackets and helmets.”
An aside sort of, but a sort of response heh heh is that here in the Glen Valley area of Riverside County we experienced anywhere from 107-118 during the decade of the ninties. This current decade we’ve only broken triple digits less than a handful of times. We welcome the cooling trend.
Today will once again be in the early ninties Fah.

Whats John Belushi doing in that pic? Under Mao statue right side.Well, it's understandable that you think that's John Belushi, there is a striking resemblance after all; but in reality that is none other than Senator John "Bluto" Blutarsky!
