Because the Mexican elite hate the "gringos". Because the Mexican government officials are "bought and paid for" like Obozo. Because the entire Old Mexico culture is built on "mordida" (the bite). No honest government can exist in those conditions, much less allow a prosperous nation.
And because Obozo wants to use such vile stuff to destroy the United States.
We had best find another officer like "Black Jack" Pershing.

but nver captured him or even closed with the majority of his forces.
What makes anyone think that some latter-day Pershing would do any better, given we don’t know the land, are outsiders,
and will eventually leave.
I think “The Bite” is merely another symptom of socializm, and Mexico, with over 100 years under that corrupt and deadly system, is a textbook case. Where socializm exists, the rule of law is choked. Regulations are so pervasive that if one were to try to follow all the laws, absolutely NOTHING would get done. Civil servants are paid in power, not money. “The Bite” is the only way to get by.
