“Sorry, the only fascists are on the LEFT.
They are the collectivists, the central planners, the rule by the few over the many, they are the fascists.”
Good for you. You boiled down the reality of democrats in two concise sentences. Good job, MrB.

“Doesn’t that sound precisely like what’s been happening for the last nineteen months?”
Good post. I’d disagree on a few minor points, but your post is on target.

How about what happened to the founder of the Minutemen when he tried to give a speech when inited to do so at Colombia. They literally stormed the stage and ran him out of the building. That didn't happen, and if you insist that it did, then you're a Brownshirt Nazi and my security force will have to escort you from the building to the waiting bus.

Allow me to help out.
Hitler, in a number of public speeches, called himself an admirer of Marxism. What he hated were communists, who challenged his personal fascist rule.
You can look at Hitler’s decrees and find sentence after sentence defending the Marxist collective.

And that "liberal of the old type", "who really believes in individual freedom" is what we would call today a Conservative. The Left had not co-opted the word Liberal yet, when Hayek was writing. Good quote, thanks for posting. Good point, too, that Hayek makes, about how fascists and socialists are allied with Communists in their loathing of, and opposition to, classical liberals -- which would be us.
[kcvl @ #38] Max, the spawn of Sid “Vicious” Blumenthal – he who attempted to ruin Monica Lewinsky’s life by falsely portraying her as Bill Clinton’s “stalker.”
Thanx, I hadn't realized that Max Blumenthal was related to "Sid the Squid" of the "Mad Monica" roorback .... Sid was retailing that story around the DC literati for Slick Willie in 1998 and treated Chris Hitchens and his wife for lunch to try to get the story out there .... when the infamous blue dress turned up within 24 hours. Hitchens has been on Sid Blumenthal's butt like an enraged mongoose ever since. Hitch is an atheist and all that, but he's also civilized, which means he'll never capitulate to political scum like the Blumenthals.

In the middle of our discussion, a dozen College Republicans stormed the front of the stage with signs denouncing me as a left-wing hack"... Oh, it gets worse! I heard the evil College Republicians called you a dooty-head behind your back! Oh, the intolerance... tragic *sniff* How much you want to bet this guy saw the inside of a locker on repeated occasions along with a random swirly now and then as a yte?

Greg Gutfeld’s show. He uses a slightly varying line: and if you disagree with me you are a homophobic nazi... etc.
Your word usage in the line I quoted reminded me a bit of it.
