First lady Michelle Obama made an unannounced visit to Walter Reed Medical Center on Friday as part of her "regular private meetings and interaction with military families," according to an official in her office.

Today's visit to Walter Reed will allow the first lady to "share the feedback and concerns expressed by military families with officials inside the White House and across the administration," the official said.

Laura and W are retired.......they visit the troops out of love. I stopped and nearly teared up when I saw a pic of them with the troops. MO’s copycat visit is unimpressive.
First you get wounded. Then Michelle Obama visits you.

What better therapy for young men struggling to cope with traumatic disabilities and painful, arduous rehab than to watch a silly, effeminate, self-absorbed jerk who couldn't care less about them fulfill his childish fantasies, traipsing around, able-bodied.
Were I more cynical I'd think...nah won't go there.

I believe the solders and hospital staff should check their pockets and make sure they still have their wallets after the Yeti has paid them a visit. She needs money to go on more vacations.

It would be reasonable to presume she brought them cake to eat.
Perhaps someone can enlighten me...Mrs. Obama claimed “military families” as one of the issues she planned to address as First Lady. But I can’t find any record of her meeting with them since early this year—or possiblly sometime in late 2010. If anyone has more specific info, please post it on this thread. Coming off her vacation debacle in Spain, she clearly needed a better photo op, so off to Walter Reed.
Also, it’s very clear this trip was arranged at literally the last moment. I was at Walter Reed for several hours Thursday afternoon, and there was no talk of a pending visit by Mrs. Obama, or any evidence of preparations for her arrival (Secret Service presence; cutting the grass, etc).
Glad I made the trip to Walter Reed yesterday and not today.
Total damage control. She just got back from the extravagent trip from Spain and is about to embark on yet another vacation in Martha’s Vineyard. Marie Antionette indeed.
