Actually that is happening all the time. Many of the children born here, which they reach adulthood (the age of consent), claim joint Mexican citizenship from the Mexican government so they can own property and exercise other rights there that they are denied unless they are Mexican citizens. And many Mexican adults who have naturalized do the same thing, once they have their US citizenship. Many vote in Mexico's elections, which has always seemed to me to be a violation of the pledge they take when they become citizens. But we don't make them chose, and we have never held them to their pledge. All that said, a child cannot give consent, so, if our government is "by the consent of the governed," that would eliminate the argument.

Similarly, children born on US military bases on foreign soil are not citizens of the country where the base is located, they are US citizens.

Children born to diplomats and other foreign government officials on assignment in the US with diplomatic immunity do not gain citizenship through birth. They may, when they reach their majority (the age of consent), petition for US citizenship if they meet certain requirements. But it is not automatically extended to them the way it is now to the children of illegal aliens.

That is what I was saying. No child of a foreigner born here, whether the child of a diplomat or not, is forced to be a citizen of the U.S. Which they would be if the "jurisdiction clause" of the 14th A. meant what liberals say it means.

That’s right. If you are here illegally, your CHILDREN do not become citizens. Your GRANDCHILDREN do not become citizens. Your GREAT GRANDCHILDREN do not become citizens.

There are probably many millions of “Americans” who are the direct descendants of illegals and whose entire family trees are either illegal or born to illegals! We need to weed them out and deport ALL of them. I think we should go back as many generations as we have to. If you don’t have a REAL American in the woodpile who could confer citizenship down the line, then OUT YOU GO.

America should be full of AMERICANS. That includes, of course, all LEGAL immigrants and naturalized citizens.

But there should be NO anchor babies or even anchor GRANDCHILDREN.

It was one of those things that just sort of happened while we weren’t awake.

When I was in junior high in the early 70’s in CA, Cesar Chavez became a hero by leading the effort to organize the United Farm Workers of America. I had understood them to be legal temporary workers, non-citizens. The kids worked underage, didn’t go to school, lived in shacks ( only other place I’d seen housing like that was in Alabama circa 1964) and were generally not treated well. The groundswell of support centered around treating these “guest workers” humanely.

Somehow things transmogrified considerably.

I was probably quite naive as to their legal status. I remember crossing with my family from Nevada in the mid-60’s and being stopped at a checkpoint entering CA to see if we had any apples. I just assumed nobody got in the US we didn’t let in.

Started as a humanitarian thing and morphed into an instant democrat voting base thing and could easily overtake that and become the Reconquista thing.

That would never happen because any new law would not be retroactive. That means a pregnant illegal who has a baby one hour before the law goes into affect has hit the jackpot. And if we don’t change the law the country will go bankrupt and there will be no more jackpots to hand out.

.

Help Texas watch her borders.
Watch live on 14 cameras and report illegal alien invaders.
Night cams in operation

http://www.blueservo.net/index.php?error=nlg

Does it work? Yes.
Best time to catch them is at night.
Recently caught on cam and reported:
String of illegals running through brush with backpacks
Numerous sightings of boats crossing the river
Numerous vehicles late at night in isolated areas
IMMENSELY satisfying

I see a serious point for debate.

If Indians are NOT subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, how did Charles Curtis become vice-president (Herbert Hoover) and potentially, presumably, also to be president?

Charles Curtis’s father, Orren Curtis, was an American citizen, therefore, under the laws of these United States at the time, his Indian mother a descendant of Kaw Chief White Plume and Osage Chief Pawhuska became a US citizen upon marriage.

That the Dems were left speechless illustrates they are even dumber than I thought.

At my husbands place of work, every new hire receives a pocket sized Constitution and have done so in the 30+ years he’s been with the firm. One thorough read with reasonable reading comprehension should make it perfectly clear.

Were you able to keep yo face impassive at the sight of their bemusement?

" I attended this hearing. The Dems on the subcommittee were left speechless "

Translated, they where so overwhelmed by it, that they could not spin it fast enough to fool the public in what they heard... and they got owned.

Using the old and tired trump race card hand is worn out and well spent, it has lost it's effect.

Remember when the “conservatives” used to belittle, bedevil and SLAM Libertarians for their open border stances? The early days of FR were full of those wars, the archives I am sure are full of the scars and carnage. Now it is a supposed “Republican” platform to “comprehensively” reform......another phrase for open borders.

Can’t have anything that the RATs would use to paint the GOP as racist.

Thing is, they're gonna call us racist anyway. Just being Republican means you're "racist." Just being white means you're "racist." Just being opposed to illegal immigration means you're "racist." It's time to stop cowering at that word, and (1)either laugh in the faces of those who scream it, (2) give it right back to them, or (3) just go about our business, doing what needs to be done, and ignore them. We've got work to do. Our country is a mess. We can no longer hold back because of fear of being called a name, which they'll call us, anyway!!
