Assistant Chief Brad Myers of the Kokomo Fire Department said the victim, Heather McCombs, 24, put out a cigarette in a coffee can she was using as an ash tray. The can contained gunpowder. When McCombs' cigarette came into contact with the gunpowder, it ignited, causing the burns...

I've done some stupid things in my life, but I can proudly say none of them involved gunpowder booby traps.

Somebody could go to jail for a very long time if this case is prosecuted as felony bomb-making.

By definition, a prank is a malicious act, whatever the police may think of as the prankster’s intent. Somebody ought to go to jail and pay for the victim’s medical bills.

Ho ho, there’s nothing funnier than seeing somebody’s face get half burned off. What ever happened to springy fake snakes in a pretend can of mixed nuts.

I’m old fashioned. It’s horrid, but I don’t think anyone should go to jail, unless the victim thinks it a good idea.

If it is a family member, the last thing the victim may need is to worry about them in jail. I say she calls the shots.

There's such a thing as criminal negligence. A joke's a joke's a joke, but if a person does something they should have known would be harmful by the standards of society, then they should get nailed for the damage they actually did - not what they "thought" would happen.

Without this, mayhem would get off with a shrug and a claim of not meaning any harm - and lies from bastard sadists would have to be accepted at face value.

It's now called "Congressional Legislation". Voted in by mixed nuts.

We need cigarette registration. If it saves even one child, isn’t it worth it? < /sarc >
