He’s a white liberal.
But reasonable people can disagree.
He’s a Third World identified white liberal, just like his mentor, Bill Ayres. The famous “white Negro” came out of this: these were white liberals who identified with blacks and felt that they were really black, deep down inside.
Part of it - I don’t remember who wrote about it, maybe it was Tom Wolfe? - was that effete white liberal males felt that thuggish black males were the epitome of true masculinity and wanted to appropriate this without actually doing it.
Another part was the Marxist belief that blacks, particularly Africans, were somehow in the vanguard of the revolution. The French loved this idea; Jean Genet, horrible French homosexual/sadist “playwright” popularized it; and thousands of panting, drooling American academics followed along behind and offered their bodies - and what little was left of their minds - to this idea.
He’s a African Muslim, to be exact. He’s not a liberal, he is a socialist.
