Kennedy Widow Urged to Run Against Scott Brown

The widow of the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy is being urged by prominent Democrats to run for the seat currently held by Republican Sen. Scott Brown.

They believe that Victoria Reggie Kennedy has the best chance of any candidate to win the seat back in 2012, according to a report in The Washington Post.

Though she has seemed to bat down the idea, Kennedy has been in some ways acting the part of a candidate. She has raised her public profile by campaigning for other politicians and appearing at events across the country.

The Massachusetts version of North Korea’s “planation communism” continues to churn out heirs and pretenders to the throne of Camelot.

Speaking of dynasties, I am in Chicago and I took the architecture boat tour this evening. There is this HUGE building in the city called the Merchandise Mart. It was originally built by Marshall Field. It is so large that until recently it had its own zip code. It was purchased by Joe Kennedy many years ago for a fraction of what it cost to build when the real estate in Chicago declined considerably. The Kennedys owned it until 1990, I think.

Means nothing - I just thought it was interesting.

Save her for 1016. She is probably more qualified than Barack was in 2008.

A nightmare. Scott Brown is so much preferable.
Patrick Kennedy released a video announcing that he wouldn't run for reelection. In it he thanked people for supporting his family's plans or agenda, something like that, don't recall the exact words but that was the gist.

Not upholding the U.S Constitution or anything like that,he emphasized his family's ideas about how things should be and thanked people for supporting his family's ideas. That's the way I understood it when I saw it. He is my “representative” (lots of laughs and tears).

I agree with what you said except for the term limits support.

My 2 cents is that if term limits are instituted and people vote as always they have, the term limits won’t make a difference because those voted in will be the same as those voted out. Term limits will just put in new faces who have the same beliefs in office.

I think term limits come from the ballot box. Things will change when enough people vote for a real difference in governance.

For 1016 she will need Mr. Peabody, Sherman and their Wayback machine. :)

“Scott Brown is so much preferable.

He is? Doesn’t he vote with the Liberal Democrats just as Kennedy did?

Well, unless I’m sadly mistaken,he hasn’t always voted along with the extreme Liberal Democrats. Further,he gives the Repubbies one more number in the Senate ranks. Do you think it would be preferable to have Ted Kennedy’s widow in that seat?

Not preferable but not much worse, either.

If Mrs. Kennedy didn’t run when the seat was vacant, there’s no reason to believe that she’d run in 2012.

There you go again. This is a blatant lie. Do you ever criticize Democrats?

Scott Brown is no conservative but he's conservative compared to Kennedy.
