Just for the sake of pragmatism, why is Obama even getting involved in this issue? He has nothing to gain and everything to lose. The messiah should learn to keep his mouth shut.
If the laborers union is LIUNA, and it would get the contract to build the mosque, then Hillary’s got a problem. That would mean that she lost the support of LIUNA (Laborers International Union of No. America).
If LIUNA turns down a chance to bid/build it, then it will be because Hillary Clinton told them not to. She and Bill were mobbed up with LIUNA/Mafia money in the 1990’s (American Spectator, Apirl 1997, Byron York “ With Friends Like These”).
Hillary cannot afford to loose the 9/11 remembrance voters, esp. among New York Jews (Cantor-Fitzgerald who lost hundreds of employees) and Christians who would view the mosque as an Islamic victory symbol at the sight of their greatest act of terrorism.
Obama is losing supporters because he is coming out as more pro-Moslem than pro-American, and his choice of friends and words is showing this every day.
Go Obama. You are are our best weapon against the Democrats and yourself.

Also, recall that the Catholic Church pulled out of the adoption business in Massachusetts. I think the Church should have fought it in the courts on Constitutional grounds, but these liberals seem to want freedom of religion for Islam, but the Catholic Church? not so much.
Neither the FDNY site, their union site (UFANYC), the NYPD site, nor their union site (NYCPBA) has ANYTHING against the mosque. In fact, the NYPD site has a statement about extra police protection around mosques during Ramadan because of hate crimes.

I'm glad he's enough of a megalomaniac to open his mouth and tell us his stance. He's shedding supporters by the millions by telling the truth about his convictions.
Very shrewd timing of her remarks if that is the case. As in, he couldn’t resist grandstanding at this scheduled PR event, and she made the critical remarks just prior, to prod him into making some over-the-top remarks in support of it, which he did. Maybe I’m assuming too much, but it’s nice to at least hope that there are competent leaders on our side.
All three groups overlap. Net gain, not so much.

I can’t read her mind. My opinion is the timing of her remarks was shrewd, but I’m not infallible and can misread things. If I’m reading it correctly, she set a trap and he amateurishly bumbled right into it. Also, apart from her, nobody on our side seems to be showing any common sense.
