Some things need to be said about the mob that showed up to glom some applications for Section 8 welfare housing in East Point this week, and Im your guy the (ahem) author of The New York Times best-seller Somebodys Gotta Say It.
My experience with these Section 8 clients goes back to the mid-1970s when I had a law office at the First National Bank building in Decatur. It was my misfortune to occupy an office down the hall from the Decatur Housing Authority. Being a quick learner, I figured out I needed to be somewhere else on days the authority was accepting applications for Section 8 housing. The hallways would fill early with ... well call them applicants, just to be nice.
After experiencing that unruly mob, I wasnt stunned to learn of the behavior of the East Point Section 8 crowd.

The dust-up with the Section 8 crowd in Atlanta is a perfect example of what is happening in America. Those people were in line for taxpayer freebies...then, they broke out into a fight amongst themselves.
That tells me that if obama is allowed to reign, he will eventually take all from the producers and give it to the moochers, who will then fight over it.
We then go from being a nation of Laws, to jungle law. Standing up now is our only option.

Richard Janikowski and Phyllis Betts. Janikowski, a criminologist, was creating a map of crime patterns in Memphis while his wife, Betts, was studying Section 8 housing patterns as part of her research as a housing expert at the University of Memphis. Memphis, you see, was demolishing its welfare housing projects and moving the residents into Section 8 units around the city. The two soon recognized that their work was concentrated in the same neighborhoods. They merged their crime and Section 8 maps on a computer. You should not be surprised to learn that they overlapped perfectly. Section 8 housing meant crime, drugs and gangs. Just the culture you want spread into your neighborhood, right?

My first job as an independent metal roofing contractor was to build an awning and facade on a strip center in Arlington, TX. One of the tenants was a storefront for processing applications and delivery of food stamps. Twice a month the parking lot was filled with women waiting in line while their boyfriends had beer enriched reunions as they struggled to keep someones kids corralled in the cars and others circled looking for open parking spots. This was in the heat of summer and I was having an impossible time finding legal workers. I was sure that someone in that group would ask if I was hiring, especially after I put up a big sign on the roof above the food stamp office, but no takers. I did get a couple of complaints when my sweat dripped on the hood of cars, but not ONE request for a job.
My father worked painting section 8 housing for extra money since he retired and he told me that the tenants cut holes in the wall between the apartments so when the welfare worker comes along, they can shuffle children between them so they can have more kids to up their welfare.

One house in my neighborhood is now Sec. 8 rental housing (owned by a guy who is a notorious absentee slumlord in these parts). For the longest time loud fights kept breaking out there at 2 or 3 AM. Repeated Police attention and calls from the rest of us eventually brought an end to that. But it is the only home on the block that looks like absolute hell (weeds up to the eyeballs, the tree in the back is about to grow right through the rear-facing windows)

Taking from someone who earns it is stealing.
Government taking from someone who earns it and giving it to someone who did not is compassion and if you disagree then you must be a right wing hater. RIGHT?
Theft is theft regardless if a gun is used or the force of government is used.

Bad thread to read at lunch. This is disgusting and sickening and I wonder how we have fallen this far to support a permanent underclass that just continues to grow. Where does it all stop? Obviously the moochers believe the gravey train will never end but it must. What then?

My husband served in the Navy when our first child was born in the late nineties. We qualified for WIC, but refused to sign up for it.

catman67 “If you get something for free, it has no value!”
You must be referring to the ‘free’ p’ontang that is frequently and FEEELY distributed to create more nonsupporting dead-beat “fathers”.
We moved from our residences of 12+ years in Houston to escape the katrina evacuees who took over the apartment complexes near our home. Again same mentality and same overproduction of new moochers, murders, thieves and bums. And the same thing happened at the local Tex. Dept of Human Services or whatever we call the welfare office.

"They'll cut out the middle man when it comes to getting their stuff." And then they'll receive a harsh lesson about the Constitution and the 2nd amendment.

They'll cut out the middle man when it comes to getting their stuff. That would be an unfortunate choice for them...
