Could the State of Israel be sitting on an oil reserve that can provide energy, cash flow, and international political influence? This is the question that everyone is waiting to be answered in the engineering report ordered by Givot Olam Oil, overseeing the drilling at the Megged 5 site, next to Rosh Ha'Ayin.
The final report will be submitted on September 5. However, a preliminary report was already issued to Tel Aviv Stock Exchange on the oil reserves on the site. "The amount of oil in place in Rosh Ha'Ayin plot is estimated at 1.525 billion barrels of oil." In previous reports, the quantity was appraised at only a few hundred barrels of oil a day.

Is this a teaser for a new Joel Rosenberg novel?
would be nice. :-)
It would be great!
Would make Israel’s neighbors even more hateful toward the Jews than they already are, though.
But . . . bring it on.
What was that old saying, Jews spent 40 years in the desert to end up in the only place in the middles east without oil.
God’s been known to work in mysterious ways.
Now would be a good time to show a sign of solidarity between the American people and Israel.
Our Usurper in Charge would sour any deal whatsoever, even going so far as to use military AGAINST Israel. Imagine brokering a deal with OPEC to wipe out Israel ? Barry Soetoro would camp outside Mecca to be the first in line to pitch that idea.
Would be nice just to have a small clue WHERE in Israel this might be — on land, off the coast? North, south ... something .....
Bring it on, for sure!
Question. Given the current hostility towards Israel by most of the oil producing nations, where does Israel get its fuel from?
every few years, we see big headlines about some massive oil find in Israel. The news is always pushed by some businessman, often american, who is looking investments. Once he gets the money, we never hear about that oil find anymore.
People never learn.
My folks and I have invested a few shares in this company. :-)

15 miles ENE of Tel Aviv according to Google Maps of Rosh Ha’Ayin Israel.
If this is true, Obama and the libs will not demand that Israel give that exact spot of land to the Palestinians.
That's how whiners and frauds operate.
No, just confirmation of an old one. ;-)
I would rather we bought our oil from the Israelis as the muzzies.
And the Wikipedia entry gives the basics: Rosh Ha'ayin.
