I was implying the verified genetic connections between American Indian natives and East Asians as a correlation between the Roma and the Indians of the north-western parts of the Sub-continent.

In both instances, although the genetic connections are documented, culturally, they are as different as chalk and cheese.

No one in India would mistake Gypsy music for traditional Indian music, and likewise with the clothing. The Roma, over the course of almost a thousand years, have absorbed traditions all the way from the Subcontinent, through Persia and Arabia, through Anatolia and Eastern Europe, and beyond, to an extent that makes their culture very different, if not totally different, from the original stock.

I speak this as someone very familiar with both cultures.
