President Obama, First Family Kick Off Vacation on Martha's Vineyard (Stay on vacation)

President Obama and the first family today escape from life inside the Washington beltway and retreat to the summer vacation island of Martha's Vineyard, where they'll soak up the sun and enjoy time together as a family.

The 10-day getaway, the family's' fourth and longest this year, comes after a whirlwind campaign swing through the West Coast by Mr. Obama earlier this week and amid a swirling controversy over the president's comments about a proposed Islamic community center and mosque near Ground Zero in New York.

With no public events scheduled for the week ahead, the president will get a break from the media spotlight and the partisan political battles that have intensified with just three months before November's midterm elections.

I think Obama feels his work is done. All he is needed for is to sign the bills Pelosi and Reid pass and issue EOs for those policies they can’t pass. That is all he was ever intended to do.

So, why not make the most of his time and the free unlimited expense account? How about a date night in New York or a romantic flyby of the Statue of Liberty? Why not have Michele and the girls go where ever they want and take whomever they want? Golf, hoops, ... ? Whatever it takes to kill time. Now if only Carville and the rest would shut up about actually doing something, if only symbolic, everything would be fine!

Thank you, that is exactly what I needed to show an Obama supporter who keeps saying that Zero works hard. She has often referred to times that Obama stressed, in a couple of his many aired speeches, that being president (solving our Nation's various problems) is "hard work." She is so influenced by his whining, finger pointing, and complaining that she fails to recognize the obvious. That is, Obama considers anything that he has to do for any length of time to be "hard work." He has terrible work habits and no perseverance for anything except campaigning. He has never held a job for more than two years...and he is fast approaching the two year date now. As it gets closer, I am sure he will find more and more ways to get away from his responsibilities in the Oval Office.

By the way, to your list of vacations...we can add the many hours/days spent playing golf, campaigning for others, raising money for the Dems, and not working while on our dime.

Returning on Labor Day would make it 13 days; the next Tuesday, 14.

First thing Obama does is to get oriented as to which way is Mecca.

I would not be surprised if it was found that at most if not all of his public speaking appearances he aims himself towards Mecca, never facing away as that would be an Insult to the Koran.

And any bathroom that has the commode facing sitting in the wrong position will have to be “renovated”
