“Recovery Summer” - Obama’s “mission accomplished” moment.

Well, the Carrier that returned actually did accomplish its mission, which is what the banner meant, so I guess you can say bammie is accomplishing his mission too.

Welcome to the “new norm”.

I am so sick of seeing the word “unexpected” I could puke. The only people who expect these numbers to get better week to week are deluded; there is nothing going on anywhere in the Country that has any promise of large numbers of jobs, and things are already getting really ugly out there depending on what part of the Country you live in.

If we’re back at 500K now, I’m terrified to think about where we will find ourselves in February...

“I’ll bet the IPO market is hot right about now.
This would be a dandy time for a GM offering!

/s”

Yep. But they’ll try their darndest with the old Pump and Dump, I’m sure...

I just posted this about GM’s earnings:

New jobless claims over 500,000?

The market does not like round numbers. Especially bad ones.

If everything that happens in the economy is “unexpected”, why do we listen to these “experts”.

You might been "surprised" to see this "unexpected" graphic that shows the "stubborn" and "disappointing" refusal of our illustrious President's policies to accomplish anything, regardless of how many vacations he takes. Kowabunga!!

Can someone define “unexpected” for me? Because it can’t mean what I thought it did.

>>No way! I can’t believe it says ‘unexpectedly’!!!<<

We should have a new rule. Anyone who starts an economy thread with the word “unexpected” in the title gets an obligatory punch in the nose.

It’s in the spirit of “shoot the messenger”. ;)

They must be complete morons, because every time they use that word it was not unexpected to ME.

Maybe I’m in the wrong business...

I'm expecting the next headline to read something like, "the heart stopped beating. The man died unexpectedly."

What do you think?

If everything is “unexpected” it says to me that these idiots have no clue as to what they are doing. Apparently they “expected” the economy to improve because Zero gave a speech in Ohio (Who was that moron who said he was doing a wonderful job?).

Unexpectable

That’s why darling, it’s unexpectable

Unexpectable too

It will probably be lower by then simply because so few will have jobs left to lose. This will be heralded as, “Unexpectedly good news”.

Definitions of key phrases used by DumBO:

unexpected = just what I was trying to achieve.

not rest = don’t bother me, I’m off to the golf course.

let me be clear = I’m telling a f#cking lie

Why does every article about the rise in claims say it is unexpected? I know it is funny, but every news article about this story uses ‘unexpected’ in the title, almost like a Journ-0-list type collaboration. Does saying that it is unexpected make Obama look better, somehow?

I think they’ll end up pulling the GM offering. It’s probably just a political stunt anyway.

“I think they’ll end up pulling the GM offering. It’s probably just a political stunt anyway.”

Interesting- I hadn’t thought of that possibility. Although, they are making rumbles about doing it right before the election to show what a wonderful job Dear Leader did with it.
