Time To Terminate Western Civilization Before It Terminates Us
CounterCurrents.org ^ | 18 Aug, 2010 | Guy R. McPherson

Actually, this review is too late for the many people who have already endured economic collapse. As any of those folks can tell the rest of us, we do not want to receive the lesson after the exam.

...

Global climate change threatens our species with extinction by mid-century is we do not terminate the industrial economy soon. Increasingly dire forecasts from extremely conservative sources keep stacking up. Governments refuse to act because they know growth of the industrial economy depends (almost solely) on consumption of fossil fuels. Global climate change and energy decline are similar in this respect: neither is characterized by a politically viable solution.

I thought they would get tired of trying to sell the same old story. This one was just too funny.

“Global climate change threatens our species with extinction by mid-century is we do not terminate the industrial economy soon.”

They are really desperate now, because their “global warming” fraud is collapsing; and they were depending on it as a tool to help manufacture the need for global government - as in “never let a crisis go to waste”.

AGW is "Anthropogenic (man-made) Global Warming". I read the link, which ended with In 2009 at the height of a productive career, McPherson left the university to prepare for collapse. He now lives in an off-grid, straw-bale house where he puts into practice his lifelong interest in sustainable living via organic gardening, raising small animals for eggs and milk, and working with members of his rural community.. Isn't it great Western Culture allows someone to do as they wish, even if it's stupid?

So, let me see if I get this right. We can save the world if we just give total power to society’s n’er-do-wells?

It was a person with some similar beliefs by the name of Mao who returned his society to such levels of poverty in a deliberate effort to create a sustainable society and rid the society of some 30 million human beings in the bloodbath of the Great Leap Forward and the Great Cultural Revolution.

I thought the post was satire. I should have ended the excerpt with </SATIRE>

Everybody who truly believes these ideas could save the rest of us. If Western Civilization was so evil, there are other places in the world to go...

I think Mao was a little more pragmatic than this university professor, unfortunately for 30 million Chinese.
