She makes the argument that this is no different than speaking to a group in Berkely or at a college where they hate her so much they try to shout her down or hit her with pies. She says she often speaks in front of groups that have different positions politically than she does.
IMHO its a bad move as it further legitimizes GOPROUD- a group that works to allow open homosexuals in the military and homosexual marriage while claiming to be a “conservative” organization. CPAC allowed this group to be a sponsor at its convention and so called conservatives (the Ron Paul crowd) booed a speaker off the stage at CPAC that dared to speak out against homosexuality.
