It’s not a freedom of speech or expression issue. It’s about him being so stupid that he thought there was nothing wrong with sending out something like that to everyone on his email list when that list contained parents in his school district.
Change the content of the message to a song about there being no God...or being pro-abortion message....Many of the people here would be going crazy demanding he be fired. And rightly so - but not because of the content. It’s because polarizing people is a dumb thing to do.
Stupidity isn’t a crime and neither is free speech.
This guy exercised poor judgement at most.
The taxpayers of that school district are going to pay heavily for the school overstepping their jurisdiction/authority.
And the leap in logic to assume that many here would demand he be fired for doing the same about God or W., is absurd. Many here are TRUE conservatives and know that free speech goes both ways, even if we vehemently disagree with the message.
The issue here is that this fella did this on his own time, with his own computer, to his personal email list. It’s a private matter and the school had absolutely no business involving itself.
I hope they lose their “collective” ass in this matter. Because they’re behaving like the communists that they are.
