I am a registered Democrat and have from time to time considered changing that but then the Republicans do something terribly statist or democratish and I think “what’s the point?” and I receive all the SocDem propaganda so I know it and hey, the Democrats put on a free party in the park every two years. Some years ago my Dem registration was satisfyingly ironic because I could call or write to our then Dem governor and start of with “as a registered Democrat” and I would get an answer that indicated that someone actually read it. I get invited to local Dem propaganda speeches and “meetings” and sometimes know what is coming down the pike pretty early compared to non Democrats.

You have just expressed my sentiments exactly. As a Registered Democrat I get some of the same treatment from the machine. I get phone calls and letters sent to me as well as people showing up at my door telling me things such as

'If the Republicans get in they will take away your house using Eminent Domain because you are a senior citizen' or some such nonsense.

Frankly I have not had this much attention since the last time I threatened to buy a new car some years back.

The last Democrat I vote for POTUS was Jimmy Carter in 1976. Worst vote I ever made. I refuse to vote for any candidate who represents a political party that has a vested interest in the defeat of the United States of America.

Having said that I am in no hurry to change my party affiliation for Republicans because in the past 4 years of the BUSH Administration, they proved what swine they were. I will vote for a GOP candidate but I won't change parties at this point unless they bring back Lincoln.

Great hearing from you.
