STOCKHOLM WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is suspected of rape in Sweden, where authorities have issued a warrant for his arrest, officials said Saturday.
The 39-year-old Australian denied the allegations on WikiLeaks' Twitter page, saying they "are without basis and their issue at this moment is deeply disturbing."
On the contrary, I think this is the last one.
I for one ain’t that sad that someone, somewhere has the guts to do what needs to be done. No dirtier than him, and a lot more necessary.
I know what you mean. Its hard to grasp the full implications of his release of all that info. I can't picture Afghanistan very well. It could not be a good thing, though that Afghani informants were named in the documents.
We will see what happens. I know it won't be radioactive Polonium poisoning. Maybe ... found to have "hung himself to death" in his jail cell.
Thanks! [Grin]
There is something territorial about it. One peacenik might defend another when it's GWB's war. But it would not surprise me if "the powers that be" took this real personal.
The wikileaks guy said he tried to get the WH to comment or reply about it, that he warned them 2 weeks ahead of time, but got no answer. But I think I remember the Pentagon requesting he not release the documents a day or two before he did.
Sadly (it says alot about me, I guess) I find this to be more popcorn-worthy than most other recent current events, almost like a Soprano's episode.
