VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass. — As if the cover of Time magazine were not enough, now the writer Jonathan Franzen has a presidential plug to add to the advance publicity for his latest novel, “Freedom”: On Friday President Obama bought the book on the first full day of his 10-day stay on Martha’s Vineyard.
Later in the day, the president drove a golf cart while he played with three others at the Vineyard Golf Club.
While Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton was back in Washington briefing reporters on the resumption of direct peace talks between Israeli and Palestinian leaders Mr. Obama, in jeans and sandals, ventured by motorcade with his daughters, Malia and Sasha, from the property he is renting here to a book shop, Bunch of Grapes, to stock up on beach reading.

Wondering if this is setting her up to run in 2012 while he recovers from back surgery-playing golf so much can play havoc with a skinny smoker who isn’t used to exercise other than heavy inhaling.
It is more than possible that he will not run in 2012. His numbers are so bad, can’t see him putting his ego thru a losing struggle.
I think the Clintons have given him an out and he is taking it. You can bet your house that they have file after file on his past deeds.
Watch Hillary start to shine thru as the Dems only hope.
I’m sure that the millions of people spending this weekend scouring the internet job listings and wondering how they are going to pay their bills this month are revolted by these images of Barry frolicking on his tenth vacation this year without a care in the world.

Yeah- good observations. I wondered about that, too- definitely seemed like this was more than just a fluff piece about POTUS on a vacation, when you read between the lines.
Maybe he should keep this up for another two and a half years. It would minimize the damage he could do to the country.

Just adding up some events from the past 2 months and it is obvious both the Obama’s seem to be thumbing their noses at the American taxpayers.
She went out of her way with her surprise trip to Spain. With his numbers dropping, I don’t think even she would have done that if they plan to return to the WH in 2012.
His constant golfing and vacations???? Fiddling while Rome burns???

Yeah, I hear that! I think Congress shutting down in the mid-Nineties was one of the best things that happened for the country in the last twenty years...
