An aide to Tony Blair told the News of the World that the book launches a full defence of the much-derided US president, saying he was the only man with the courage to take on Al-Qaeda.
"It is the biggest and most unapologetic defence of Bush and his ideas ever written," the paper quoted the aide as saying.
"It is basically an extended love letter. Tony says he was wowed by Bush's strength, courage and conviction and saw him as a highly intelligent and visionary friend.
"He says the Americans were the only ones with an effective vision on how to deal with al-Qaeda and Iraq."
If the comments are accurate, the book is sure open up old wounds in Labour, which is still trying to move on from the decision to invade Iraq and the damage done to its reputation by Mr Blair's slavish adherence to American demands.
Activists hoping for an apology for the war were instead greeted by the sight of Mr Blair insisting the international community should take a tougher stance over Iran.
The memoir, A Journey, will be published next month.

I miss President Bush.
Lots of articles about Bush recently, almost all positive. Something is up. It seems there is a move to get the Bush name back into the public’s mind so it can be associated with the current bad economy, instead of Obama. I think we will see in the next couple of months many more articles about Bush, Bush, Bush. And it really doesn’t matter what the articles say, only that the Bush name be back at this point in time.
What we are seeing is a political hail mary pass.

I saw Blair speak a couple years ago at a conference, and it was one of the most enjoyable events I have ever attended. While we certainly don’t agree on all issues, he is an incredible speaker and a man of his convictions. He has a great pulse on international events and shares our viewpoint. he promoted Nuclear energy as the future, talked about the cultural problems in the middle east (most notably very real challenges in the education/indoctrination of young people in their schools, and the role of the Chinese. Rarely does one here so much real insight from an individual.
While it was apparent from his speech that he built a strong friendship with Clinton and probably was more eye to eye on domestic issues as a social liberal, he clearly had a respect for President Bush’s leadership post 9/11 that transcended political philosophy.

I still get the chills when I think of the derisory comments on that fateful day, when GWB heard that awful news when he was in a school for the small’uns.
My God, the man hesitated a couple of seconds, to let something sink in that was inhuman in its atrocity and its dimensions.
At that point in time, there was absolutely nothing certain: how many planes, how many casualties, what was still going to happen... it was devilish in its immensity alone.
And still, there were all those snide commentators, who thought GWB weak and not capable, for attempting to understand the incomprehensible.

Bush has kept his silence these past 2 years. That will soon change. We are going to see fireworks from the man they love to blame.
Nothing Blair had done or said with regard to the Lockerbie bomber would have mattered if O demanded the man remain in prison rather than be released on compassionate grounds.
President Bush’s silence has been worth a million words.
Even the msm is beginning to get the difference between the two men. And O falls short in every way.
The jury is still out on Bush. The government should have done their homework with re. to Iraq possessing WMD, apparently the CIA could have done a much better job. The first four years of Bush when he heeded the advice of Cheney were unquestionably better than the last four when he weakened under pressure of the left. IE, following the advice of Schumer to appoint Paulsen to Treasury and failure to respond to the constant attacks from the left. And let’s not forget that old man “read my lips” Bush begot Clinton and GW begot Obama!
