Obama To Mandate AIDS Integration In Prison?

South Carolina is expecting a lawsuit by the Obama administration aimed at ending its policy of segregating prisoners with AIDS that has been in place since 1998.

The administration claims the policy prevents infected prisoners "from participating in activities and jobs of their choosing"; is unconstitutional and that the separation "stigmatizes" prisoners with AIDS.

And, the goal in ending this ban? To assure HIV is spread among inmates?

I approve.

If it means Obama having AIDS and being in prison, then yeah. Let him intergrate.

Is this yet another right the administration will grant the American people?

So, what’s the worst thing that can happen? As long as it FEELS good, it just has to be good. < /sarcasm>

Obama also lifted a 22-year-old ban on entry into the United States for people infected with HIV/AIDS.

His policies all seem to have a negative impact on US.

Common sense is dead, I tell you. No one is looking to stigmatize, just trying to keep a five-year stretch for drugs from becoming a damn death sentence! I worked in prisons for 3 years and watched my older brother die of AIDS back in the early 90’s. Prison rape/sex is nasty and needs to be dealth with, but reality dictates that no plan is 100% effective except for segregation. AIDS is an infectious disease and needs to be treated as such, not treated like a civil rights issue.

My attitude is that if the AIDS is getting folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good if everybody gets it. If you’ve got AIDS, you’re gonna be better off if you’ve got a whole bunch of other prisoners demanding AZT, or whatever, and right now not everybody’s infected and demanding treatment and that's bad for everybody and I think when you spread the AIDS around, it’s good for everybody.

Didn’t he already allow immigrants with AIDS to come freely into America??

Yes I am sure he did.

Just think of how many lives could have been saved if we had quanrantined AIDS patients in 1979 (and beyond). This was a rare disease, in known populations, spread by well-defined behaviors. It was very manageble.

But the homosexuals were appalled by the idea. At the very least they should have immediately closed the bath houses in San Francisco -- but that plan was protested. Now, many of those protesters are dead.

Of course! That’s step 1.

Step 2 is to confine all Republicans in a prison. It’s the final solution.

Does that count as rough justice?

This can't be true.

This is again a case where “ideology” trumps “pragmatism.”

Roughly 2.5% of all prison inmates are raped (Not counting repeat of fences). We have 2.4 million in federal and state facilities. Will he also take “full responsibility” of the AIDS cases that will be caused by this decision. Or will this be another BP crisis where he wants to take the credit when it looks politically advantageous but then backs out and lets others take the fall or do the talking when it gets ugly?

Mix these two populations and you are sentencing people to death!

Common sense truly is dead. I can't imagine an inmate with AIDS not wanting a special ward where they can receive treatment. I can't imagine a general population prisoner wanting to be mixed in with an AIDS prisoner. Prisoners do get raped and so someone could go to jail for theft or forgery and end up with a death sentence. Professor Obama does what is theoretically correct under his PC zealotry and the country suffers with deadly consequences.
