On one hand I’m scratching my head in disbelief, but on the other hand I think about how NY CONTINUOUSLY leans and votes left. Maybe when they wake up and find that they are being taxed on every aspect of their lives right down to their underwear, maybe, just maybe they will see the light.
The state will eventually add a value added tax for the incremental processing that was applied to the formerly whole bagel.
In Lakeland, FL the local governments are sending out people to look for old additions to houses and properties. They then look up in the records to see if a building permit was pulled at the time it was built. If not they go to the homeowner and demand the price of the building permit or they will make them tear it down and rebuild according to current codes.
So, 15 years ago you added 30 ft of fence and didn’t bother to pull a permit to pay Caesar his due. Now you get hit.
And most people don’t know that they require a building permit for damn near anything bigger than a birdbath.

I live in Western NY, and I no longer buy cigarettes in NY, I buy boat parts online and have them delivered tax free and do much of my consumer electronics purchasing in Delaware when I visit my in-laws. This extends to tires, liquor, any almost anything else that is taxable and that you can stuff into the back of an SUV or trailer.
Yep, raise them taxes higher and higher. Only makes purchasing out of state more attractive.
And form IT-201 askes me to declare all of these things and pay the sales tax on them. Hah, not on your life. Tough to track when you pay in CASH.
The libtards who live in the “downstate corridor” who vote for democRATS have us outnumbered. There are alternatives to those of us who live close enough to the state lines.
I've even heard of a legal term called "statute of repose" -- which is a much longer duration than a typical statute of limitations (I think it's 10 years in my state) -- that basically protects a previous property owner for any flaws or problems in a property that was transferred to someone else a long time ago. Apparently it often comes up in condominium situations when a developer builds a project, forms a condo association, and then sells off individual units to new owners.
