Martin Short's wife, Nancy Dolman, has died at the age of 58. The pair had been married for 30 years.
News of Dolman's passing sent Web searches soaring for her biography, photos, and cause of death. E! Online reports that Dolman had been battling cancer for three years. RadarOnline.com reports that "there will be no funeral service for the actor's wife per her own wishes."
Short and Dolman met while working together on a Canadian production of the musical "Godspell" in the 1970s. A blog dedicated to the musical's production hosts Dolman's original biography from the program.
According to The Toronto Star, that Canadian production had quite the cast. In addition to Short and Dolman, the cast included the late Gilda Radner, Eugene Levy, and Victor Garber, most famous for his work on "Alias." And that's not all: The musical director was none other than Paul Shaffer of "Late Show With David Letterman" fame.

“I saw him recently in the final season of Damages as the crooked lawyer and he was outstanding, really terrific actor.”
I’d like the see that, I’ve never seen him in anything other than comedy, but I could imagine him in an evil role like that.
I like Martin Short a lot, I really always related to that crazy character he did on Saturday night live.
Of course, you are right SCTV was one of the greatest TV shows ever.
I’m very sorry to hear about his wife dying. I’m glad they had a strong marriage that lasted all those years.
May she rest in peace.
Martin Short’s son attends The University of Notre Dame (as does my son), and the entire family is known as a decent bunch. I was sorry to hear of his wife’s death.
He’s done some funny skits ...the one on SNL with Synchronized Swimming was funny....Although I hate Law and Order I watched an episode with him on it and he was good.....

RE: “Martin Short was great in Capt Ron”
***********
No kidding, Captain Ron is one of my all-time favorite silly comedies == always makes me laugh.
Very sad news about Short’s wife —
What are you, a funeral director?
That’s sad. Neither deserved this.
Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that. She was pretty young! I pray for God’s peace for Mr. Short and his family.
Wow. That's too bad. 58 is way too young.
My favorite Martin Short film is The 3 Amigos.
It’s really interesting that comic actors sometimes make the best dramatic actors.
Edmund Kean the 18th century actor said on his death bed something like this “Dying is easy, it’s comedy thats hard”.
I love it too Mary Kay place is kinda hot and swabby the little kid is real funny too
What a douche thing to say.
On Dennis Miller’s radio show today, he spoke for a few minutes of this woman’s passing. Dennis, in his sweet, heart on his sleeve way, gave a very heartfelt send off to his friend Nancy. He said he was awed by her strength as she suffered through her battle with cancer.
On the funeral vs. no funeral issue, IMO, the wishes of the deceased should be honored by the survivors. Honoring those wishes is the last thing the survivors can do for the deceased person.
Dying is easy, its comedy thats hard.
Yes, he was right, comedy IS hard.
“However, in ‘Father of the Bride,’ he was one of the funniest characters I have ever seen”
Our family LOVES that movie and his character in particular. Most Hollywood marriages are more like long dates, but this one had longevity and common sense, it seems. I read that she quit work to stay home with the kids. Very sad. God bless Martin Short and the family.
“What if the family doesnt want one either?
We had a mass said for my parents who told us not to waste our money on a viewing.”
Well, if no one wants one, that’s different. But I still think it’s cruel to deny that closure, it seems so necessary for acceptance of what’s happened.
